Italian Senator: Full Solidarity with Shen Yun

On the evening of March 19, 2026, Shen Yun gave its ninth performance at the Auditorium della Conciliazione in Rome, which was also Shen Yun’s final performance in Rome this year.

Following the resounding success of Shen Yun’s critically acclaimed performances at the Auditorium della Conciliazione in Rome in February 2026, the company returned to Rome to present four shows from March 17 to 19. Many audience members said watching Shen Yun was not only an experience filled with art and beauty but also spiritually uplifting.

On March 16, the day before the second round of shows in Rome, the organizer received a threatening letter and immediately reported it to the police. The performance was held successfully in front of a full house. Former Senator and former Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi publicly issued a letter of support for Shen Yun.

In his letter, Senator Terzi said that Shen Yun was banned by Beijing authorities for showcasing China’s traditional culture before communism. He said the increase in email threats were “deeply concerning.”

He noted that these threats were not only directed at Shen Yun but also at several members of parliament and government officials who support Shen Yun or Falun Dafa. “I therefore express my full solidarity with the organizers and artists of Shen Yun who, in the face of new and growing intimidation, continue to promote the values of an open and democratic society through art,” he wrote.

Senator Terzi watched Shen Yun in Rome a month ago. He thanked the artists, participants, and others who worked hard to put on the show and wrote that he looked forward to the day when Shen Yun is performed in China. He also looks forward to China regaining its freedom.

He also said Shen Yun displays the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance that are rooted in Falun Dafa. Without these, he wrote, “People do not have the freedom to understand reality, to understand history, to truly unite, and to communicate with one another.” Senator Terzi added that these values align closely with the foundational values of Europeans.

State Representative from Missouri: CCP Threats Are “Totally Unacceptable”

Shen Yun performed two shows in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 21. That evening, State Representative George Hruza presented a proclamation to Shen Yun on behalf of the House of Representatives. The resolution for the proclamation was jointly introduced by seven representatives.

Representative Hruza, who is from the former Czechoslovakia, said he experienced communist oppression firsthand and was deeply moved by the performance and Falun Dafa practitioners’ efforts to resist persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In particular, he said he could feel the positive and vibrant atmosphere when he watched Shen Yun.

Hruza said the show aligns with the American spirit—a country that provides opportunities for all–while showcasing China’s long, precious cultural traditions before communism. This should be cherished, preserved, and presented to the world so that people can truly appreciate it, he explained.

Hruza also called the CCP’s threats against Shen Yun “totally unacceptable.” “I hope the United States and US law enforcement could take action. I know the Chinese Communist Party trying to influence and they have issues,” he said. “That’s something not acceptable and we have to make sure that that’s not allowed, certainly not in Missouri.”

Missouri Representative: Very Inspirational

Representative Keithley has twice introduced resolutions in the Missouri House of Representatives to commend Shen Yun Performing Arts. “I think that the show carries a very important message: the cross-cultural issues of freedom to worship, exercise, practice, art performance, and the statements that come along with these are important throughout all cultures,” he said after watching the show on March 21.

He said he enjoyed bringing his children to the show, as it conveys a critical message. “It is important that we maintain even when it’s difficult—even when it’s made difficult, our faith, our relationship in God and our artistic expression is incredibly important,” Keithley explained. “It’s fundamental to who we are as human beings, and not allowing anyone to take that away from us.”

Keithley said he understood that some performers’ participation in Shen Yun has led to their family members in China being persecuted by the CCP. “It’s not like regular shows here where it comes lightly,” he explained. “Even if it’s something as simple as dance or something about carrying that message, there is a deeper meaning and deeper message like many of the performances we’re seeing have. It is really important and people who are in that young age and carry that with them. I think that’s very inspirational and helps really entrench that message even more for the audience and the people who come to watch.

“This is a valuable message to everyone,” Keithley added. He said Shen Yun should be allowed to perform in China to “bring back these traditions that came from there, to re-strengthen the society there.”

Retired Law Professor: Foundation of a Civilization

“I came here because it’s a moral issue,” retired law professor retired law professor Jim Beckwith said after he saw Shen Yun on March 8. “You are combining the preservation of ancient cultures—and, as Edmund Burke and others have said, that is the foundation of a civilization. It’s not something the Marxist materialists can create.

“Supporting what this wonderful organization is doing is morally important,” he continued. “The Chinese Communist Party is an instrument of unspeakable evil and must be resisted. Americans need to understand the message you are sending.”

“You have to win the culture. You can’t just rely on talk shows or politics. You have to keep alive what is sacred so you can resist the Marxist lie,” he said. “Materialism is so empty. This gives people something in their heart, while also appealing to their brain.

“It’s so important to keep that message alive—that you will not destroy our ancient culture, good will prevail over evil,” he continued. “Coming here to the concert is an act of moral courage. Many Americans don’t realize what you’re up against—or what we are up against.

“It conveys courage, wisdom, and a recognition of what is truly important in life. It shows the importance of faith—and how faith can prevail over the travails of material life,” said Mr. Beckwith. He added that he was very thankful to the artistic director of Shen Yun: “I would like to shake your hand and say: You are a genius. This is truly a blessing.”

Former Military Official: A Testimony of People Who Seek Excellence

Mel Auernig, a retired U.S. Army officer who watched a Shen Yun performance with his family in Salt Lake City on March 13, was deeply moved. “The show was awesome!” he exclaimed. “It’s a testimony of people who seek excellence.

“The perfection—you don’t do the acts and dancing that they do without seeking that excellence. We should do that in our life, seek our excellence, and be the best that we can be. I thought [the dancers were] anti-gravity. They were so light on their feet, it was incredible,” he continued.

“People need to care more about people,” Mr. Auernig added. “We don’t care about the cultures [nowadays,] we need to care. It’d be nice for us all just to get along. [That’s coming from] somebody who’s been in the military for 31 years—we have to somehow get along.”

Mr. Auernig said many young people do not cherish what we had in the past. This highlights the importance of Shen Yun. “It encourages us to see young people, the next generation, be involved in the culture, and be involved in doing good things,” he explained.
