(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 2 cities or counties in 2 provinces, where at least 3 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

Mr. Zhao Xianghai, in his 70s, was arrested on January 6, 2026, for studying Falun Gong books with other practitioners. He experienced a medical condition while being held at the Jinan City Second Detention Center. He was released on bail on February 11.
2. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Shuhua Detained
Ms. Zhang Shuhua was reported to the police while distributing Falun Gong materials in an apartment building on December 1, 2025. Officers from the Cuidong Police Station identified her after reviewing surveillance footage. They monitored her daily life for weeks and arrested her on December 22, right after she picked up her granddaughter at school.
After a brief interrogation, the police took Ms. Zhang to the hospital for a physical exam. They then snatched her home keys and ransacked her place. Her Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and other items were confiscated. She was detained for 15 days and released on January 8, 2026.
