(Minghui.org) Practitioners held a rally and did the exercises in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery on April 25, 2026, to commemorate the April 25 appeal in Beijing 27 years ago. Many people were attracted to their activities, and some said they were touched by their efforts to protect freedom of belief. Some people said they were interested in learning how to practice Falun Dafa.

A Falun Dafa practitioner representative addressed the rally.

Passersby sign a petition calling to end the persecution of Falun Dafa in China.
Ehstan Hal from Iran said about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution, “It’s so sad! I hope they stop the persecution and stop killing...What you are doing is great! I support your work for freedom 100%! Iran has similar problems. I support freedom of speech. I hope the Canadian government takes action against the suppression of the Chinese people.”
After hearing about how the CCP is extending the persecution outside of China, Ehstan said that this shouldn’t be allowed to happen. “They [practitioners] face a lot of problems in China, but I hope they will be safe in Canada and that the Canadian government will be able to support their freedom.”
Joanny from Honduras happened to be on the square that day and was intrigued by the group exercises. She said she was impressed with practitioners’ peacefulness in the face of the brutality of the persecution. “The Chinese Communist Party has deceived people, not just the Chinese, but the people of the whole world. I hope people know this,” she said.
Mr. Chen’s wife practices Falun Dafa. He said, “I used to be a fan of the Chinese government, but after I saw how it persecutes my wife, I completely lost hope in the government. It’s filled with lies. It can incriminate you for no reason.”
Chen’s wife was illegally sentenced to more than a year in prison without any evidence that she violated the law. When Chen appealed to have her verdict overturned, “They did not investigate. They just upheld the original verdict. I argued with them that their verdict wasn’t based on facts, but they aren’t reasonable.”
Just because he appealed, Chen himself was detained for seven days—the CCP claimed he interfered with public security. The former fan of the communist regime realized: “The CCP acts like a group of thugs. The Party is actually a gang.” Chen believes that good will be rewarded and those who do evil will eventually be punished.
