(Minghui.org) I started practicing Falun Dafa before July 20, 1999. I am 54 years old and a housewife. I am deeply grateful to our compassionate and magnificent Master, who enabled me to step out of a confused, aimless existence—one driven solely by selfishness—and gradually awaken.
I have transformed into a being capable of thinking of others, considering their needs in my actions, and being of benefit to those around me. I would like to share a couple of small moments from my life to express my gratitude for Master’s compassionate salvation!
When Consideration for Others Became Second Nature
I’d like to tell you about something that happened a few years ago, back when my son was still in middle school. One morning, I was driving him to school. The area right outside the school gate was crowded with cars and people, so I pulled over to the side. Just as I was preparing to park, I felt a sudden jolt—bang! My heart sank; it felt as though my car had collided with someone else’s vehicle.
I told my son to get out and head to class, then pulled my car fully over to the curb. When I stepped out, I saw a woman—presumably another mother dropping off her child—who simply remarked: “Well, look at the two of us…”
I said, “Let me take a look at the damage to your car.” Upon inspection, I saw that the front left side was caved in—it was a rather serious collision. I told her, “Wait here for a moment.” I stepped into a nearby supermarket to borrow a pen and paper, then said, “I don’t have my phone with me right now, so let me write down your number. I’ll give you a call as soon as I get home.”
When I got home, I called her right away, arranged for her to have the car repaired, and told her I’d cover the bill. Later, it occurred to me that I hadn’t even checked the condition of my own car. I went to the garage to look at it, walked around the car, but there were no signs of damage!
Since the garage lighting was dim, I backed the car out and took another look outside. Actually, there were signs of impact on the right rear wheel rim, but the body and paintwork were completely undamaged.
I found that strange. I had thought her car was parked there and that I’d hit it, but if that were the case, how come only my rear wheel made contact? Most likely, she wasn’t paying attention, her car started moving, and she hit mine. Oh well, it was all settled now anyway.
Later, her car was fixed, and the repair bill came to 300 yuan. I was a little surprised again! How could it be so low?! Hmm, I think I understand now—thank you, Master!
Being Kind Brings a Peaceful Mind
Last year, just before the Lunar New Year, the exhaust fan on my gas stove stopped working. It was a combination stove and range hood unit that we’d used for 10 years. The manufacturer no longer produces this model, and it has been phased out.
I bought a side-exhaust unit from another brand, also a combination model. The repairman came to install it. He hauled the old unit out, and I used a rag to wipe down the grease from the floor and walls, as well as the grime inside the cabinet where the vent duct runs. While he was assembling the new range hood, we chatted about everyday life. He was from the countryside, had no pension, and his son was of marriageable age but hadn’t found a girlfriend yet.
We talked about corruption in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), past political campaigns, the evil lockdown policies during the pandemic, and I shared the truth about Falun Dafa with him. I helped him quit the CCP and related organizations, and we hit it off really well. When he left, I gave him a booklet with the truth that I had prepared in advance.
The next day, our family and friends gathered for a meal. After we finished eating, I went back to my car to check my phone, which I had left inside. I found several missed calls, all from the installation technician, as well as a text message. He explained that while working at another client’s home, he realized he had left two tools behind at my place: a leak detector and a foam gun. I called him back immediately to apologize for missing his calls, explaining that I had left my phone in the car. He then mentioned that I still owed him a 100-yuan disassembly fee.
I replied, “I thought that amount was included in the final payment I settled with you yesterday.” He insisted it wasn’t. So I told him, “In that case, I’ll pay you when you come by to pick up your tools.” I got home late that day; after searching, I found the foam gun, but the leak detector was nowhere to be found. I sent him a text message explaining that I couldn’t find the leak detector and asked whether it might have been accidentally thrown out with the trash. I offered to buy him a replacement.
The next morning, I called him, and he came over right away. I gave him 100 yuan. He thanked me. I said, “I couldn’t find the leak detector; it’s not here. I’ll buy you a new one—how much does it cost?” He said, “No need.” After we said goodbye, he opened the door and left.
Less than a minute after the door closed, he was banging on it again. I thought to myself, “What now?” I opened the door to find him holding the leak detector, excitedly saying, “Sis, I found it—it was on the snowy ground.” I looked at it, and sure enough, there was still snow on it. He said, “I just wanted to let you know, so you wouldn’t keep worrying about it.” I said, “Thank you for letting me know you found it. Otherwise, I really would have felt terrible.”
As I closed the door and stepped inside, I felt such a sense of peace. It turns out that thinking of others is truly wonderful! But then another question popped into my mind: How did that little transparent stick end up in the snowdrift, and how did he happen to spot it? “Thank you, Master!”
