(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 5 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Xiaoxia Detained
2. [Chongqing] Ms. Jin Arrested
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Yu Guoqing and His Wife Arrested
4. [Pingshan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Gao Dongdong and Ms. Liu Xinli Harassed
5. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Up to Nine Years in Prison
1. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Xiaoxia Detained
Ms. Li Xiaoxia from Manchu Autonomous County, was arrested on April 24, 2026, and is currently being held in the Benxi City Railway Hospital.
2. [Chongqing] Ms. Jin Arrested
Ms. Jin, 68, was arrested on April 3, 2026, after being reported to police for talking to a young man about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Yu Guoqing and His Wife Arrested
Mr. Yu Guoqing was reported to the police for distributing information materials about Falun Gong. He and his non-practitioner wife were arrested on April 7, 2026, by officers from the Xinnong Police Station and the Caidian District Domestic Security Division. The police ransacked their home the next day and confiscated his Falun Gong books, laptop computer, gold ring, and other personal belongings. His wife was released the next day, while Mr. Yu was detained for 15 days and released on April 22, 2026.
On April 23, only a day after Mr. Yu was released, staff members from the local community and the Caidian District Politic and Legal Affairs Committee came to his home. They ordered him to attend a brainwashing session and threatened that he would face fines and detention if he didn’t show up.
4. [Pingshan County, Hebei Province] Mr. Gao Dongdong and Ms. Liu Xinli Harassed
Mr. Gao Dongdong was harassed at home by Pingshan Town Police Station officers on the evening of April 18, 2026. The police took photos of him, and also asked for a photo of his wife, Ms. Liu Xinli, who wasn’t home. Only after Ms. Liu’s daughter promised to send her photo to the police, did they leave.
5. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Up to Nine Years in Prison
Four practitioners were sentenced to prison on February 4, 2026. Ms. Su Hong was sentenced to nine years and fined 5,000 yuan, Ms. Jia Yanfeng and Mr. Shen Jinxiang both received five years and a 2,000-yuan fine, and Mr. Yang Ku was given four years and six months and a 2,000-yuan fine.
The four practitioners appealed with the Mudanjiang City Intermediate Court. The judge scheduled a hearing on April 29, 2026, but later cancelled it.
