A warm breeze drifted through the air in early May as Kaohsiung Ciao Tou Sugar Refinery Park was filled with a festive atmosphere on a lively weekend afternoon.

Under the bright sun and gentle breeze, the Tian Guo Marching Band launched the “Celebration of May 13 World Falun Dafa Day.” Amid the resounding drumbeats and melodious music, Falun Dafa practitioners joined voices to chant in unison, “Happy Birthday, Master,” expressing the hope that Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance would bring happiness and hope to all humanity.

In joyful anticipation of the upcoming 2026 “May 13th World Falun Dafa Day,” practitioners in Kaohsiung gathered on the afternoon of May 9th to hold a celebratory event. The practitioners organized a rich program of artistic performances, including exercise demonstrations, the Divine Land Marching Band, a waist drum troupe, and a choir, to celebrate the worldwide dissemination of Falun Dafa, while also inviting the public to join in the festivities and witness the beauty of Dafa together.

The Ciao Tou Sugar Refinery Park, with a history spanning over a century, is designated as a Kaohsiung City Historic Site and Cultural Landscape. It is a popular family-friendly destination that combines history and culture with leisure and tourism.

On the day of the event, the participants’ enthusiastic performances attracted many tourists, who stopped to watch. Kaohsiung City Councilors Huang Chiuying, Chen Lina, and Fang Hsin-yuan, members of the Kaohsiung mayoral campaign team, city council candidates, and representatives from various sectors, attended to offer their congratulations, while several neighborhood chiefs also sent recorded messages.

The practitioners were joined by numerous dignitaries at Qiaotou Sugar Factory Park to celebrate May 13, World Falun Dafa Day, and to wish Master Li Hongzhi a happy birthday.

Falun Dafa Teaches Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance: A Force for Good in Taiwanese Society

Kaohsiung City Councilor Huang Chiuying said she knows many Falun Dafa practitioners. “They are all very well-mannered and very friendly to the community. To spread the teachings of Dafa, they reach out to residents and the elderly in the community. I find them to be very sincere and selflessly dedicated. To Taiwanese society, they truly represent a kind heart and a force for good.”

Kaohsiung City Councilor Huang Chiuying attended the event to deliver remarks, celebrating World Falun Dafa Day.

“I believe that every religion possesses aspects worthy of respect—especially Falun Dafa! Centered on the core principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, it has helped countless people attain physical and mental well-being, earning my profound admiration,” said Huang Chiuying. “Today’s celebration is not merely an expression of our cherishing of benevolence and peace; above all, we hope that more people will come to understand the positive values conveyed by Falun Dafa, and that everyone may practice kindness and spread light in their daily lives.”

As May 13, World Falun Dafa Day, approaches, Huang Chiuying extends her warmest wishes to the Master of Falun Dafa. She emphasized, “Taiwan is a country where religious freedom is upheld, but given the current turbulent times and the restlessness in people’s hearts, inner cultivation is more important than ever. Therefore, I sincerely encourage everyone to take up the practice of Falun Dafa.”

Falun Dafa Preserves Traditional Moral Values and Stability in Society

Kaohsiung City Councilor Chen Lina was the first to arrive that day to offer her greetings. She said, “Taiwan is home to many Falun Gong practitioners, who convey the core essence of a positive faith—namely, to uphold the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance in all matters, and to use them as a standard for evaluating everything.” She added, “This plays a significant role in maintaining social stability, and it is also a key reason why Falun Dafa is able to have such a profound influence on the world.”

“The CCP’s long-standing persecution of Falun Dafa and Shen Yun is evident to the whole world, but Shen Yun has demonstrated integrity and perseverance to the world,” said Chen Lina. “In the face of all this, I believe that good will triumph over evil, and the truth will eventually come to light.” “This is because people’s hearts inherently yearn for sincerity, beauty, and goodness; when faced with right and wrong, people’s hearts will naturally make a judgment.”

Swimming Against the Current to Uphold Dafa and Spread Goodness—Worthy of Vigorous Promotion and Dissemination

Hsu Cheng-Yun, chairman of the Federation of Industrial Park Manufacturers of the Republic of China, spoke in high praise of the group, “Falun Dafa practitioners are the kindest group of people I have ever met! Each and every one of them is sincere, benevolent, and dedicated to serving others, radiating the brilliance of human goodness.”

He added, “They strive to cultivate their minds and bodies and to promote world peace, yet unexpectedly, they have been subjected to persecution by the Chinese Communist Party—even suffering the atrocity of forced organ harvesting—which is utterly inhumane.”

“In Taiwan, a land of freedom and democracy, the Falun Dafa community represents a force for good that deserves to be vigorously promoted to the world, fostering greater kindness among people and encouraging them to treat others with ever-increasing sincerity and forbearance.” Such was his appeal and aspiration.

Liu Tianfu, deputy director of the campaign team for Legislative Yuan member and Kaohsiung mayoral candidate Lai Ruilong, attended the event to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day. He shared a personal example of how Falun Dafa benefits both body and mind: “I have a friend who shares my interest in literature and history, whom I’ve known for over twenty years. At one point, his health deteriorated, and we lost touch. When we met again later, he looked radiant and was in excellent health. He attributed this to his practice of Falun Dafa.”

Liu Tianfu, deputy director of the Campaign Organization for Lai Ruilong—a Legislative Yuan member and candidate for Kaohsiung mayor—attended the event to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day.

Liu Tianfu was deeply moved. “Falun Gong promotes physical health, and its principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance align with core Eastern values. I believe that a legitimate religion aims to encourage people to do good and make society better and more harmonious. I am confident that Falun Dafa will lead Taiwanese society toward a positive and bright future.”

Cheng Qilong, chief of Zhudong Borough in Luzhu District, Kaohsiung City, attended the event and delivered remarks to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day.

Cheng Qilong, chief of Zhudong Borough in Luzhu District, Kaohsiung City, has been a staunch supporter of Falun Dafa, generously providing the village office as a venue for practitioners to study the Fa and engage in discussions. He stated that through this experience, he has witnessed the kindness and gentleness of practitioners, “They are highly disciplined; when studying the Fa and discussing it, they are united and harmonious. They even took the initiative to replace lighting fixtures and other equipment, keeping the environment in excellent condition.”

“From the smallest details, one can see that Dafa practitioners possess high moral character and excellent self-cultivation, and that they are truly considerate of others,” he stated firmly. “The spiritual demeanor they demonstrate embodies the core values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. I endorse Falun Dafa’s promotion of these principles, for the world is in need of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. As Falun Dafa fosters kindness toward others, leading to an ever-growing number of good people, society is bound to become more harmonious.”

Freedom of Belief Must Not Be Denied—The CCP’s Suppression Is Unconscionable

That afternoon, Mr. Lin, a member of the Veterans Affairs system, made a special trip to the venue to observe the Falun Dafa event. He said, “Three generations of my neighbors practice Falun Dafa, and they are gentle, polite, humble, and harmonious. I initially thought this was simply their natural disposition, but later wondered if it might be due to their practice.” Consequently, he decided to go and explore what Falun Dafa is all about.

Having witnessed the grandeur of the gathering firsthand, he exclaimed, “The scene is lively and spectacular, yet remarkably orderly.” When discussing the current state of Falun Dafa’s development across the Taiwan Strait, he stated emphatically, “Taiwan places great value on democracy and human rights; freedom of belief is inviolable and cannot be denied. The Chinese Communist Party’s suppression is utterly unconscionable.”

Mr. Li, who has worked across the Taiwan Strait, paused to chat as he passed by the venue. “Falun Dafa is truly excellent! It strengthens the body and cultivates the capacity to endure hardship and humiliation. It is absolutely not as the Communist Party portrays it, they genuinely care about the survival, health, and well-being of the common people.”

He emphasized, “Falun Dafa practitioners cultivate the true skill of ‘Forbearance’—a quality that is especially rare. It is precisely because modern people lack the ability to forbear that so many conflicts and troubles arise.”

Passersby stopped to learn the truth about the worldwide dissemination of Falun Dafa.
