(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Gaotang County, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Aixia Arrested
Ms. Xu Aixia was arrested at home by officers from Gaotang County Police Department on April 28, 2026. Her home was ransacked.
2. [Huangchuan County, Henan Province] Ms. Ding Zerong Taken to Prison
Ms. Ding Zerong, 72, was admitted to Xinxiang Women’s Prison in late April 2026. She was sentenced to two years in prison by the Huangchuan County Court a few years ago. She lived away from home to avoid being jailed, but was arrested by on March 17, 2026. She was held at the Xinyang City Detention Center before her prison transfer.
3. [Benxi County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Xu Chunxue Taken Back into Custody to Serve a 3.5-Year Term
Mr. Xu Chunxue, 76, was reported to the police for putting up Falun Gong materials on the evening of May 12, 2024. His home was ransacked by Qinghe Town Police Station officers. He was placed under criminal detention on May 22 and released on bail on May 29. The police and procuratorate staff members repeatedly harassed him. Due to physical torture and mental distress, he developed a serious heart problem and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The local court held a hearing of Mr. Xu at his home on April 10, 2025. He was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. He appealed to the Benxi City Intermediate Court, but lost the case. He was taken back into custody at the Benxi County Detention Center around April 20, 2026, to start serving time.
4. [Xiangshan County, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Mo Guihua Detained
Ms. Mo Guihua was arrested in late March 2026 by Xiangshan County Political Security Division officers. She has been held at the Xiangshan County Detention Center since.
5. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Lanzhi Likely Arrested
Ms. Zhang Lanzhi, 57, worked at a breakfast shop. She has been missing since late April 2026. Her Family suspected that she had been arrested.
6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Du Chongfen Detained
Ms. Du Chongfen, 71, was reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmers' market on April 19, 2026. She was arrested and her home was ransacked. The officers confiscated her Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. She was taken to Weifang City Detention Center that day and released on bail on April 26.
7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dong Baiquan Released on Bail
Ms. Dong Baiquan was arrested and taken to a detention center on April 21, 2026. She was released on a one-year bail on April 24.
8. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Feng Yingxin Arrested
Ms. Feng Yingxin was arrested on March 21, 2026. Her home was ransacked. She was held at the Baoding City Detention Center and released on April 27.
9. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Shuzhen Arrested
Ms. Wang Shuzhen was arrested on April 17, 2026. She has been released.
10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yan Jingqiu Arrested
Ms. Yan Jingqiu was arrested at noon on March 14, 2026, by two plainclothes domestic security officers. They took her back home and ransacked her place, confiscating some Falun Gong lectures, copies of Minghui Weekly, and several USB drives.
During the required medical exam at the Pudong Detention Center, Ms. Yan was found to have extremely high blood pressure at 230/140 mmHg, and she was therefore denied admission. Instead of releasing her, the police taped her mouth, handcuffed her behind her back, and took her to Haici Hospital for another medical exam. They instructed the doctor to “skip some details.” They also force-fed her medication, and eventually had the detention center admit her.
When her lawyer visited her, Ms. Yan told him that she had held a hunger strike for five days after her arrest to protest. The police administered IV drips of nutrient solution to her. She later ended her hunger strike.
11. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Released from Prison
Ms. Liu Jingju was released after serving two years in prison on April 13, 2026.
Ms. Li Guifen and Ms. Bu Sumei have also been released.
