(Minghui.org) After my granddaughter completed her college entrance exam last year, my daughter’s family and I made plans to go on an out-of-town trip.
I hadn’t seen my granddaughter for a long time, and the first thing she said to me was, “Grandma, I’m the only one in my class who didn’t join the Communist Youth League [there were more than 80 students in her high school class]. Whenever the teacher asked me to submit an application to join, I said, ‘Let’s talk about it another day.’ That was always my reply until I graduated, and I never joined.”
My daughter lives in the city and I live in the countryside, so I didn’t get to see her that often. I spent more time with her when she was little, and I taught her to sing Falun Dafa Is Good.
I taught her to recognize Chinese characters when she was six or seven months old and was able to sit up. By the time she was 10 months old, she could speak simple sentences and often pointed at objects with Chinese characters on them, and asked me to read them.
She had an extraordinary memory and remembered almost anything I taught her. Whenever she was tired or sleepy, she would say, “Grandma, sing Falun Dafa Is Good.”
My granddaughter went to preschool when she was two and a half. When the teacher taught them songs, she would sing Falun Dafa Is Good. The teacher tried to stop her from singing it, and my granddaughter said that was the only song she knew. The teacher complained to my granddaughter’s grandparents (my in-laws) many times, but she continued to sing Falun Dafa Is Good.
Her fourth grade teacher lectured about how wonderful the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was, and said, “Without the Communist Party, there would be no New China.”
My granddaughter raised her hand and stood up. She said, “Teacher, I think you’re wrong. The CCP killed many people during their various campaigns. Especially during the June 4 Massacre where the students were shot by machines guns and ran over by tanks. Do you know how many people died during the massacre? And you think the CCP is good? You may not remember, but your parents would know. You can ask them.”
The teacher was speechless, and later complained to my granddaughter’s parents. My daughter and son-in-law knew about Dafa and the CCP, so they didn’t scold her. My son-in-law even praised her, saying, “You said it well!”
My granddaughter’s grades were consistently above average from elementary through high school. The reason she didn’t have the highest grades was because she didn’t agree with some teachers’ nonsense, so she didn’t do her homework or memorize the lessons. My daughter never saw her do homework or memorize English vocabulary.
On the eve of last year’s college entrance exam, my granddaughter told her mother, “I don’t want to attend a subpar college, so I need to study for a few days.” Although she never had the best grades in her class, she received the highest score in her class on the exam and was admitted to the college of her choice.
