(Minghui.org) My relatives told me about Falun Dafa in early 1999, and I began practicing. Although I previously read Buddhist scriptures, I was unable to find answers to my questions about life until I read Master Li’s teachings. I was amazed. Master Li revealed many heavenly secrets in a straightforward manner—secrets I had never read about before even though I had read countless books. I realized I’d been searching for Falun Dafa.
Falun Dafa Helped Me Obtain a Highly Skilled Job
I worked as an administrator before 1999, in a county urban construction agency. Many coworkers practiced Falun Dafa and we happily cultivated together.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its brutal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in July 1999. Towards the end of 2000, my coworkers and I decided to travel to Beijing to appeal to the authorities. However, we were intercepted by the local police at the train station and detained for 15 days. When we refused to sign a guarantee statement promising to stop practicing Falun Dafa we were suspended from our jobs.
My parents used their connections to help me land this job. I was giving up a dream job desired by many others, and my friends and family could not understand why.
As my family was not financially well off, I tried to find another job. A friend told me about a data clerk job at a construction site in the provincial capital. Despite my previous job in the urban construction agency, I found a huge difference between that and handling actual construction work. I even found many of the terms used in construction unfamiliar.
I knew that I had to do my best. I could not let my relatives and friends develop a negative impression of Falun Dafa just because I lost my job. I had to show them that Falun Dafa brings cultivators blessings. Whatever we lose we regain.
I diligently researched, learned, and gained recognition at the company. By year end, the materials I had created were being used as templates for various construction projects, and the project supervisor told my coworkers to learn from me. The boss proactively started assigning me to more projects, and I earned added income beyond my basic salary.
The following year, the construction site boss asked me to take on technical construction work. I knew my knowledge was inadequate, but the boss said, “As long as you’re a good person, that’s enough. It’s hard to find such a good person!” This boss knew the truth behind the persecution of Falun Dafa, and trusted me. Thus, I undertook this technically demanding role.
Falun Dafa gave me the wisdom to accomplish my tasks. I could understand construction techniques that I had never encountered before, just by reading reference books. Moreover, I gained the ability to apply them. When I attended university, I found it difficult to absorb information about reinforced concrete and other technical topics, but after I began practicing Falun Dafa, everything came easily.
Issues related to concrete pouring caused some project delays. When our boss asked everyone to determine the cause, they passed the buck. When I said, “Let’s look inward,” the boss immediately said, “That’s exactly what I want to hear!” He trusted me even more after this.
I made sure to be fair and impartial when I settled the accounts, making sure not to over or undercharge the individual teams. When some teams privately offered to pay me off, I refused to accept their bribes. Instead, I assured them I would settle the accounts fairly. The teams grew to trust me and stopped crosschecking the accounts.
I compiled the settlement details for each work team into a ledger for my boss. Computers were not commonplace then, so I wrote out everything by hand. My boss commended me, saying that out of all the technicians he had employed, I was the only one who voluntarily did this.
In this way, Falun Dafa and the upright morals it bestowed on me helped resolve the most difficult and contentious task encountered on any construction site—settlement work.
Easily Obtaining Various Job Opportunities and Professional Certificates
In late 2009, I found myself implicated when other Falun Dafa practitioners were persecuted and detained by the authorities, for six months. After I was released from detention, my family told me, “Your boss is waiting for you. He asked you to come back to work as soon as you’re released.” Other construction site bosses also invited me to work at their sites. Friends and family members working in the same industry also invited me to work at their sites.
My relatives and friends saw the greater benefits of practicing Falun Dafa. Even if I lost my first job, I was in demand.
My boss began entrusting me with increasingly important tasks, even those I had no experience with. He said my good character alone was enough to convince him of my competency. I started working on pre- and post-construction cost settlements.
Conducting pre- and post-construction cost estimates required good technical knowledge, and I studied hard to improve my skills. I didn’t want to let down my boss and tarnish Falun Dafa’s reputation.
I took the National First-level Construction Engineer exam and passed all four subjects on my first attempt. I also took the First-level Construction Engineer exam in another specialty and obtained that certificate as well. I also obtained a National First-level Cost Engineer certificate—this was one of the most difficult exams in the cost management industry that had an extremely low pass rate.
Even though I did not go to school for these certifications, I was able to pass these difficult exams thanks to the wisdom given by Falun Dafa. My classmates, who had been retaking the exams for years before they gave up, envied me.
“The Boss is Lucky to Have You!”
Pre- and post-contract settlement is tedious and complex, and requires mastery of a wide scope of information that includes technical methods, quotas, documentation drafting, new construction processes, and materials. A large project often calls for hundreds or even thousands of items to be considered on the final bill, with engineering drawings and software calculations to back up the claims, making it extremely easy to miss something.
I follow Falun Dafa’s standards, so I considered everything, even small items costing tens of yuan. Whenever I forgot something Dafa reminded me, ensuring I compiled the costs accurately.
A colleague said, “The boss is so lucky to have you compile the estimated cost! You are highly skilled, meticulous, and possess excellent moral character. It is impossible to find someone like that these days.”
Over the years, as the scale of projects I worked on grew larger, I started handling projects worth hundreds of millions, or even billions, with ease. I can work overtime for long periods, remaining energetic, while much younger colleagues suffer from backache and fatigue.
Whenever my work requires intense overtime, I feel fatigued. But doing the Falun Dafa exercises quickly restores my energy.
My memory has significantly improved. I can accurately recall project data from several years prior. One year, I single-handedly checked the cost estimates for a 70,000-square-meter project with six people from a consulting firm. They said, “This is the first time we’ve encountered someone who can get budget and quantity calculations so accurately.” The team began consulting me before making any changes.
Another team sent more staff, but their checking speed remained slower than ours.
A young boss asked me, “I can’t deny we are getting old. My mind has become dulled. What about you?” I replied, “Because I practice Falun Dafa, my mind has gotten even sharper.”
He told me he knew an 80-year-old supervisor who also practiced Falun Dafa. The supervisor was so healthy, he could climb mountains faster than those much younger than him.
Helping Young People Improve Their Skills
After switching to a new workplace, I encountered two young women in my budget department who had weak technical skills. Fearing they would become too capable, their predecessors refused to teach them. I taught them. I patiently answered their questions and explained key points. They thanked me, “Sister, you’re wonderful! We’re so lucky to have met you!”
The first girl, Caiwen (alias), came from a poor family. After learning the necessary technical skills, she found a high-paying job. The second girl, Aijia (alias), continued to work with me for six years because she felt secure and comfortable with me. Many of her classmates gave up their careers because no one was willing to teach them, and she was grateful that I helped her. She called me her “Master,” but I told her there was only one Master in the world for me—Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa. She told me she wished to practice Falun Dafa. Now she holds an important position in a large, state-owned enterprise.
I took on a 730-million-yuan project in 2021 and mentored two young people. They said, “Meeting you is the luckiest thing that ever happened to us!” After the project ended, they both found better paying jobs.
Another girl who worked on documents wanted to learn cost estimation, so I taught her, step by step. She said, “Whatever you teach is clear and understandable. In contrast, I find it hard to understand anyone else who tries to teach me.” With her faith in me and in the goodness of Falun Dafa, she enjoyed an outstanding career in the industry.
Building Trust Using Falun Dafa’s Standards
Settlement work often involves cross-checking with consulting firms, real estate cost estimators, and government auditors. Since each party has conflicting interests, arguments are common. Sometimes people even resort to unethical tactics.
As a Falun Dafa practitioner, I remained humble and honest, and I refused to infringe on others’ interests while ensuring my boss did not suffer losses. If the other party overpaid, I pointed it out. I corrected my mistakes whenever I overbilled. I explained errors discreetly in order to preserve the other party’s dignity. I built mutual trust with many parties, paving the way for smooth cooperation and opportunities to clarify the truth about the persecution of Falun Dafa.
After I gained the trust of a real estate cost estimate manager, she began recommending me to construction companies that needed help with cost estimates. She said, “This is a win-win arrangement! You are honest, so we don’t have to be on our guard. Both the construction company and you can profit with this arrangement.”
Because my cost estimates were easy to audit, those auditing found their workload significantly reduced. In a society where trust is scarce, I built trust using the standards taught by Dafa, making my work easier and smoother.
I’ve come into contact with many people, and helped many withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. For those whom I failed to clarify the truth to, I feel regret, and I hope they will have the opportunity to understand why in the future.
“This is the Blessing You’ve Received From Practicing Falun Dafa!”
I am 56 years old this year. My income has increased year by year since leaving my government-affiliated job, with my basic salary supplemented by frequent freelance work. I usually earn 100,000 to 200,000 yuan a year. I once earned 700,000 to 800,000 yuan in a year. I went from renting an apartment, to buying a house for my parents, to buying my own house and car, and then buying a house for my child. I have no loans, no debts, and even have some savings.
Whenever relatives and friends marvel at my luck, I say, “This is the blessing I received from practicing Falun Dafa.” They never object despite their skepticism.
Last year, my company sent me to live for an extended period in another city, to work at a construction site. With multiple roommates at the dorm, it was inconvenient for me to study the Fa and do the exercises, so I resigned. My colleagues were worried, “The construction industry is facing headwinds, and young people can’t find work. Can you afford to be picky?”
However, I felt I needed to read the Fa and do the exercises. This year, I was headhunted to work on a multi-billion-yuan project for a large company. Relatives and friends said, “This is the blessing you’ve received from practicing Falun Dafa!”
Fellow practitioners said, “What a seamless transition!” A friend who has acknowledged the goodness of Falun Dafa said, “Sister, from your life, I see that doing good deeds brings rewards!” and she asked for a copy of Zhuan Falun. She wanted to practice Falun Dafa.
My child, parents, and siblings experienced Falun Dafa’s blessings. When one person practices, the whole family benefits.
I wish to express my gratitude and determination to cultivate well to repay Master Li’s kindness.
