(Minghui.org) Five women in Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province, were admitted to the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison because they practice Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
The five women were arrested on July 20, 2025, together with 16 other local Falun Gong practitioners. According to an insider, the mass arrests were ordered by the Fuyu County Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the Fuyu County Domestic Security Office. All 21 practitioners were monitored for months before they were seized in the early hours of July 20. Their homes were also raided. Some family members and relatives who happened to be visiting were taken into custody.
The five concerned practitioners’ prison sentences are:
Ms. Tang Xingying (also known as Tang Ying): two years and two months with a 5,000-yuan fine
Ms. Jing Guixiang: one year and 11 months with a 4,000-yuan fine.
Ms. Guo Yunxiang: one year and nine months with a 4,000-yuan fine.
Ms. Jiang Junhua: one year and seven months with a 4,000-yuan fine.
Ms. Liu Guiping: one year with a 2,000-yuan fine.
Ms. Fan Jingtao and Ms. Wang Yanling are still detained. Other practitioners’ case status remains unknown.
