(Minghui.org) The village Party secretary and I chatted one day, and I told him about the staged self-immolation on Tiananmen Square, the June 4 Massacre, and the Cultural Revolution.
I said the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) committed heinous crimes against the people after it usurped power in China. It destroyed 5,000 years of China’s ancient culture, and used despicable methods to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners.
He didn’t wait for me to finish, and said with an angry scowl, “I won’t listen to your anti-Party rhetoric.” He started yelling at me, so I left.
The second time I saw him I sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the specter of communism, the old forces, and the negative things that controlled him. This time he was calm and didn’t lose his temper. I explained the self-immolation hoax in more detail. He nodded and said it was fabricated by the CCP.
Seeing that he understood, I urged him to quit the CCP. However, he refused, and said that Party members were forbidden to accept Dafa informational materials or listen to practitioners. He left in a hurry.
I felt bad for missing two opportunities to awaken this village official. When I calmed down and looked inward to see what I did wrong, I discovered my mistakes. I wanted him to quickly withdraw from the Party, and that I had the attachment of zealotry. If someone lashed out at me and refused to quit the Party after I put in a lot of effort, I would feel upset, wronged, and resentful.
I blamed myself for failing to live up to Master’s compassionate salvation and sentient beings’ expectations. I wasn’t kind enough, so I quickly rectified myself based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I ought to maintain a compassionate and peaceful heart at all times. No matter who I encounter and how angry they became, I must not harbor resentment or hatred. I should instead prioritize validating Dafa, awakening people, and cultivating diligently.
When I met this official for the third time, I greeted him cheerfully, and sat down with him. We chatted about everyday matters. Then I told him how wonderful Falun Dafa is, and the importance of quitting the Party.
This time he looked like a completely different person, pure and innocent. He wanted to withdraw from the CCP, and asked, “Practitioners go everywhere to talk to people about Falun Dafa, and help them quit the CCP. This is a dangerous thing to do, so what do you want?”
I replied, “We want to awaken people.”
He said, “Please be careful. I know better than anyone how vicious the CCP is. It is rotten to the core.”
Before we parted ways, I told him to remember that “Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” and he would be blessed. He thanked me, and I said to thank Dafa’s Master instead.
