(Minghui.org) An officer who worked in the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) justice system for decades participated in the persecution of Falun Gong. Upon refection, he gradually began to regret his involvement in the persecution. Below, he shares his journey from complicity to understanding.

For more than 30 years I worked in the CCP’s justice system—in particular, in the legal system. I initially liked my job and I was happy in my position. The higher officials seldom interfered with us, and our job was easy.

After the CCP began to suppress Falun Gong in 1999, our job became more difficult with each passing year. The pressure was huge and officials at different levels often interfered with our work. As a result, it was difficult to follow the actual law when dealing with legal cases involving Falun Gong.

I grew up in a family that espoused traditional values, and my parents often told me to “follow your conscience.” That was what I did at work. But as time passed, my coworkers began to think the way I handled things was “odd.” My supervisors were also dissatisfied, so I was forced to act against my conscience. For example, I knew detained Falun Gong practitioners were innocent, but I had to participate in their trials. I always felt bad about it. Because I was brainwashed by the CCP, however, I chose not to think about it. My conscience was gradually eroded, and I deviated further and further from being a good person. I felt I had to act against my conscience in order to survive; otherwise, I would be discriminated against by my colleagues and superiors.

A practitioner told me the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution numerous times, but I did not pay much attention until 2024. Over the years, I observed one coworker after another meet with misfortune, and I realized that these people were all involved in the persecution. I thought about it for a year before I found an excuse to quit my job, thus ending my career.

Afterwards, I looked into the CCP’s persecution policy concerning Falun Gong and realized that the Party’s propaganda defaming the practice was groundless. In fact, Falun Gong and its principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance represent the hope and future of China.

I feel bad when I recall what I did to practitioners. Although I lost a decent job in the eyes of others, I am now calm and at peace. I never had this feeling when I worked in the CCP’s justice system. In the future, I plan to support Falun Gong, and I will do my best to tell people what it really is.

The CCP destroys humanity. When we are young, we are passionate and filled with hopes and dreams. But after being brainwashed and having our thoughts controlled for years, our humanity is replaced by Party culture. In my position, I was a tool that safeguarded the CCP, and we even vowed to devote ourselves to the Party.

It’s normal for people in the CCP system to tell lies and have extramarital affairs. Conflicts are common in their families, and CCP officials often suffer from poor health. I hope the CCP collapses soon.

I wanted to share what I realized after I left the CCP system. Many of my former colleagues also understood the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong after they retired. I hope more people separate themselves from the Party and embrace traditional culture.

I also want to thank Falun Gong’s founder, Master Li, for introducing this wonderful practice to the world. I now understand what it means to be a good person, and this has helped me get back on track.
