Shandong Woman Sentenced to 3.5 Years for Practicing Falun Gong

(Minghui.org) A 62-year-old woman in Weifang City, Shandong Province, was sent to prison in June 2026 to serve a 3.5-year term because she practices Falun Gong.

Ms. Tian Xiuzhen, born in April 1964, was arrested on December 15, 2025, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Agents from the Weifang City Domestic Security Office raided her rental apartment and confiscated a large number of personal belongings. They put her in the Weifang City Detention Center and submitted her case to the Weifang City Procuratorate.

Minghui.org recently confirmed that Ms. Tian has been admitted to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison on June 23, 2026, to serve a 3.5-year term. But details about her indictment and trial are unclear.

Prior to this latest persecution, Ms. Tian was arrested on June 13, 2006, while talking to people about Falun Gong. She was given a 1.5-year term at the Shandong Province Second Women’s Forced Labor Camp, also known as the Wangcun Women’s Forced Labor Camp. She was subjected to various torture methods and had her term extended by two weeks.
