(Minghui.org) Practitioners in Malaysia held an exercise demonstration, rally, and candlelight vigil in Kuala Lumpur on July 19, 2026, to mark 27 years of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa.
Practitioners called for an end to the persecution and held a vigil for the practitioners who have lost their lives. Many passersby were surprised to learn about the ongoing persecution and urged the international community to pay attention to these grave violations of human rights.

Practitioners did the exercises together, held a rally and candlelight vigil, collected signatures on a petition, and sang.
The activities began at 4:55 p.m. with a demonstration of the five Falun Gong exercises. The peaceful and soothing music attracted many passersby to stop and watch and take photos. Some read the display boards and learned more from practitioners.

“Such Suffering Should Be Known by More People”
Bibbo of Indian descent passed by and stopped to learn more. She runs a meditation center and teaches meditation and energy healing courses. She said she had a feeling of familiarity to see many people meditating.

This was the first time she had ever heard of Falun Dafa and the persecution. She was saddened to learn that Falun Dafa practitioners are persecuted for their faith and even subjected to forced organ harvesting.
“Such suffering deserves to be known by more people, by the whole world, so everyone can help stop this persecution together,” she said.
She asked for the website for Falun Dafa so that she could learn more.

Khairul of Malay ethnicity was appalled to hear about the ongoing persecution and forced organ harvesting in China. He said this human rights issue concerns all mankind and that more people should know about it. He thought the United Nations and people all over the world should face this matter squarely and stop this persecution together.
Candlelight Vigil Inspires Conscience and Hope
The candlelight vigil began at dusk, and practitioners gave speeches in Chinese, English, and Malay.
They spoke about how untold numbers of Falun Dafa practitioners have been illegally detained, sentenced, tortured, and even killed for forced organ harvesting since the CCP launched the persecution in July 1999. Countless families have been destroyed.

The host explained that the candlelight vigil commemorated practitioners who have lost their lives during the persecution.
After the speeches, the song Candlelight was played as practitioners held candles to remember the deceased practitioners. Their peaceful expressions contributed to the solemnity of the occassion.

Persecution Victims Share Experiences
Mr. Li from China now lives in Malaysia. He said he felt emotional to be able to participate in a July 20 event in a free country. He said practitioners in China are suffering persecution for refusing to give up Falun Dafa. “We just want to be good people. But in China, there is no such environment,” he said.
He shared that he was illegally sentenced by the CCP. While imprisoned, the guards instructed six or seven inmates who were serving heavy sentences to use violence on him. They stabbed his fingernails with needles and pulled out the nails of his big toes. He was deprived of sleep for 22 days in a row. They forced chili water into his nostrils and beat him countless times. He was left with no doubt that the CCP is vicious.
Mr. Jiang, also from China, began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. In 2000 and 2001, he went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa. He was then persecuted for 14 years, including two seven-year stretches in detention and two years of forced labor. He personally witnessed just how brutally the CCP persecutes practitioners.
He said that the tactics CCP uses on practitioners are very violent: “There is no moral bottom line.” He said that some methods of torture are difficult for him to talk about.
Mr. Jiang said he hopes more people will learn about the persecution, stand on the side of justice, and speak up for Falun Dafa, so this persecution can end soon. He also hopes that more people can benefit from the practice.
Practitioners Hope More Can Learn About the Persecution
A practitioner from Central America and the Caribbean who participated in the events was in Malaysia for academic purposes. She said this was the first time she’d met practitioners from other countries and was grateful to have this opportunity. She said events like this help more people learn about the persecution, which is very meaningful.
She shared that she started practicing Falun Dafa three or four years ago. Though there is no persecution in her country, she felt that participating in July 20 events that oppose the persecution is of great significant.
“I think participating in July 20 events to oppose the persecution is truly important, because the entire world needs to know about this brutal persecution,” she said. “This is not only a persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners, but also a test of humanitarianism.
“Even though there are people who do not want to believe it, these things are truly taking place,” she said.
She urged people who are not aware to be willing to learn the facts. “This is not about politics. This is a concealed persecution. Every person should stay alert,” she said.
Malaysian practitioner Helen collected petition signatures during the event. She said that many people voiced support and people were willing to sign after learning about the persecution.
She said that one elderly Chinese man walked by and then turned around and came back to look at the display boards. He asked her for materials to learn more about Falun Dafa. Helen said the Malaysian people she spoke with were all friendly and voiced support after learning about the situation. She said she found it encouraging.
Rally Next to Chinese Embassy Calls for an End to the Persecution
In addition to the event at the Titiwangsa Park, practitioners held a rally near the Chinese Embassy in Kuala Lumpur on the morning of July 19. The rally called for an end to the 27-year persecution, urged people to help stop the crimes of forced organ harvesting, and voiced support for the 464 million Chinese who have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

They urged the international community to help end the persecution and defend religious freedom and universal human rights.

For 27 years, practitioners have held peaceful events next to the Chinese Embassy to protest the persecution and call for awareness and justice. At the end of their events this year, practitioner representatives delivered a letter to the embassy, requesting that the CCP end the persecution.
