(Minghui.org) I needed to travel to a rural area to take care of a few matters. A fellow practitioner wanted to join me to study the Fa and discuss our cultivation experiences, so we decided to travel by car together.
Since this was the “Two Sessions” and we were heading toward Beijing on the highway, we opted to bring only Dafa e-books rather than paper copies for safety’s sake. [The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been persecuting practitioners since 1999 and the “Two Sessions” are the CCP’s most important annual meetings.]
I drove to the fellow practitioner’s residential complex to pick her up. She brought many items, including two bags of Dafa books, about 20 copies altogether. I hesitated to bring so many books because ID checks at highway entrances to Beijing were extremely strict during the “Two Sessions” period.
The fellow practitioner and I had previously been illegally sentenced by the CCP, so our IDs carried special marks. I had been stopped and checked on the highway before. If the trunk were opened for inspection, it would definitely mean trouble if the police found the books. I was worried the Dafa books would be damaged, so, I asked her, “Why did you bring so many books?”
She replied, “It’s fine; I’ve already brought them here.” She clearly had no intention of leaving them at home.
After much hesitation, I finally decided to play it by ear. If the inspection at the highway entrance was strict, we would turn around and drive back.
Unexpectedly, we first took the entrance to the ring road. I assumed we could merge directly onto the highway, but suddenly, a temporary barrier had been set up at the Beijing-bound entrance, linking it directly to the ring road. There was no way to turn back. We were forced to keep driving along the channel created by the temporary barriers.
I saw many police officers guarding every entrance leading to Beijing. A SWAT vehicle and a police car were on one side, along with a temporary area designated for trunk inspections. Each officer guarding the intersection held an ID-scanning device, screening people in their vehicles one by one.
As we drove closer to the checkpoint. The situation was critical because we couldn’t turn around and the trunk was loaded with the Dafa books. I was extremely nervous.
Seeing my state, my fellow practitioner said loudly: “Don’t be afraid! Who could dare to touch us?! If you view the police as high and mighty, aren’t you lowering yourself?”
I tried to calm down, but my mind was flooded with many thoughts. I recalled the practitioner’s daughter reminded her about safety before the trip. I thought about how my child in the military might be forced to leave the service and how my husband’s job might be jeopardized if I was arrested again.
However, I decided that, no matter what, I was the one driving the car and I would say the Dafa books belonged to me. I absolutely could not implicate my fellow practitioner—I had to protect her!
I glanced at the police officer at the intersection and sensed a peaceful energy field around him. I projected a powerful thought toward him: the character “Mie” (meaning “eliminate the evil” in Chinese). Then, I drove forward. I stopped worrying about the consequences, and left the outcome to Master.
The officer signaled for me to roll down the window so he could check my ID. Remaining calm and composed, I placed my ID directly onto his scanner. A miracle occurred—the device showed no alerts. This never happened before!
In the past, whenever I boarded trains or used expressways, when my ID card was scanned it always triggered alerts. I tried to drive away, but the officer signaled for me to hand over my fellow practitioner’s ID card for inspection.
I hesitated for a moment, then placed her ID card on the scanner. Another miracle occurred—there was still no alert! And so, under Master’s protection, we safely exited the expressway and arrived at our destination without incident.
Through this experience, I gained a profound understanding of the solemn nature of cultivation. We must take the Fa as our guide at all times and cultivate solidly in our daily lives, ensuring that every single thought and action strictly aligns with the requirements of Dafa.
Only with a solid foundation in cultivation can we remain grounded in the Fa when encountering obstacles and attain the selfless, altruistic state of righteous thoughts and enlightenment.
