(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Hu Chunyuan was issued a formal arrest warrant by the Nanguan District Procuratorate on February 2, 2026. Her case was transferred to the Chaoyang District Procuratorate on April 16. She was sentenced to three years and nine months by the Chaoyang District Court in early July. She has been admitted to the Jilin Province Women’s Prison.
Ms. Li Yueying, 86, was sentenced to six months in prison by the court in 2023. Due to her poor health, she was repeatedly denied admission by the prison. Several officers forcibly arrested her on July 8, 2026, and took her directly to the Huaihua City Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. She has been held there since to serve time.
Ms. Huang Meiying was scheduled to appear at the Minqing County Court on July 31, 2026.
Mr. Wang Yujie, 63, was arrested by officers from Heping District Political Security Division and Hunhewan Police Station on January 6, 2026. His home was ransacked. His arrest was approved by the Hunnan District Procuratorate on February 13. He was indicted at an unknown time and is now facing trial by the Hunnan District Court.
Ms. Liu Liyan was arrested by Sujiatun District Domestic Security Division officers on March 11, 2026. Her home was ransacked. Her arrest was approved by the Hunnan District Procuratorate. She was scheduled to stand trial at the Hunnan District Court on July 28, 2026.
Ms. Liu’s husband relied on her for care due to his high blood pressure and cerebral thrombosis. While she was detained, he endured immense physical and mental suffering. He was also repeatedly harassed by the police, who tried to get information from him that could be used against Ms. Liu.
Ms. Liu Yunpu, 88, was arrested in July 2026. She is currently held at a police hospital and denied visits with her family.
Ms. Liu was previously arrested in 2024, after being reported by a food delivery worker for raising awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was placed under house arrest. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated. During this time, she was repeatedly harassed by Kaixuan Road Police Station officers, who also extorted an unknown amount of money from her.
Officers from Sujiadian Police Station, led by Chen Xinghua, an official in Yulintou Village, went to the homes of Ms. Li Yunhua, Ms. Jiang Shujuan, and Ms. Li Shangying on July 9, 2026. None of the three practitioners were home.
The police learned from Ms. Li Yunhua and Ms. Jiang’s families that they were working at the cold storage facility. They went there and took photos of the two practitioners.
When Ms. Li Shangying returned home, she was harassed by village official Chen Xinghua and police officers. They took photos of her against her will.
Mr. Sun Changhe, in his 70s, was tried by a local court at the Pingdu City Detention Center on June 1, 2026.
Ms. Guo Xiulan was arrested in June 2026 after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was detained for 15 days, and released on July 8.
Officers from Fengrun District Police Department arrested six practitioners at a farmers market in Niangniangzhuang Town, Zunhua City, on October 28, 2025. Those arrested were Mr. Xu Zhenguo, Ms. Zhao Shuping, Ms. Xiong Fengyan, 62, Ms. Tang Guiyan, 67, Ms. Yao Xiurong, and Ms. Xia Xiuhua, 84. All six are facing prison sentences after three hearings.
Ms. Zheng Lijie, in her 60s, was arrested in August 2024 and sentenced to three years in prison by the Kuancheng District Court in November 2024. She was initially allowed to serve time outside prison due to her poor health. Yet the police arrested her at home on the evening of July 8, 2026, and took her to the Xinyuan Police Station. She was admitted to the Weizigou Detention the next day and ordered to serve the full term in custody, even though she was diagnosed with breast cancer, lacunar stroke, and high blood pressure.
Ms. Zhu Guangying was taken to a lockup on the evening of July 14, 2026, for 15 days of detention. Her daughter went to visit her on July 22, but was denied.
Ms. Zhang Qiuju, 74, was arrested in late June 2025 by Gao Zhihai and Li Shiwei of Shihe District Domestic Security Division. She was taken to Xinyang City First Detention Center. She was sentenced to one and a half years by the Huangchuan County Court around January 2026. She lost the appeal and was admitted to the Xinxiang Women’s Prison.
