Students and Parents Benefit from Minghui Summer Camp in Japan

Aug. 16, 2026 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Japan

(Minghui.org) Students who attend Minghui School in Japan’s Kanto region and their parents participated in a four-day summer camp held July 30 to August 2, 2026.

Twenty-seven people, including 14 children from kindergarten to middle school took part in the summer camp which was held at the Kamogawa Youth Nature Center on the coast of Chiba Prefecture. Amidst the natural surroundings, the children engaged in a wide range of outdoor activities and enjoyed a fulfilling summer vacation.

Minghui school is a non-profit education organization established by Falun Gong practitioners. The school’s primary objective is to educate children in a cultivation environment, and offers classes on traditional Chinese culture.

Fulfilling Days

The participants studied the Fa (teachings) and did the exercises after breakfast. They also swam, kayaked, and cooked meals outdoors. They held group Fa-study and did the exercises in the evening and set off fireworks.

Twelve people participated in a new activity—kayaking—on the second afternoon and they held a race to see which team could paddle the fastest. The team consisting of two middle school boys won the race. The participants were happy and kayaking was a highlight of the summer camp.

After returning from kayaking, some of the children went to the seaside to play in the water, while others headed to the gymnasium to play ball games. After dinner, they set off fireworks outdoors. Despite the sweltering heat the campers were filled with boundless energy.

On the afternoon of the third day, they took a shuttle bus to a beach and swam. The children said they had a fantastic time playing in the surf.

After returning from the beach, they began preparing a meal outdoors. From chopping wood and lighting the fire to slicing ingredients and cooking the curry, the children—with some assistance from parents and staff—handled most of the tasks themselves.

This was the first time many of the children and parents cooked curry outdoors, and they were delighted by the food they prepared. After they ate, the children set off fireworks.

Benefiting from the Activities

As camp drew to a close everyone shared their experiences. Some children said they benefited from the group exercises as they seldom did them at home—they felt a strong energy field when they did the exercises with others. Some children said they enjoyed the food they prepared.

The young female campers said they enjoyed sharing a room. Some played with and took care of the younger ones, and through this they gained greater compassion. Many children said they wished the camp was longer. All the participants enjoyed the experience and were already looking forward to attending next year.

On the last day of the camp, they cleaned up their rooms and checked out. After everyone studied the Fa and did the exercises in the morning, the parents shared their insights. They said they and their children benefited a lot from the camp.

Some mothers participated in the group exercises for the first time. Through exchanging views with fellow practitioners on overcoming xinxing tests and addressing issues related to raising children, they felt they gained a great deal in cultivation.
