(Minghui.org) A visiting delegation of Taiwanese Falun Dafa practitioners, including a waist drum troupe, arrived in Guam on July 18, 2026, to participate in a series of 82th Liberation Day celebratory events.

Although the Liberation Day grand parade was canceled at the last minute due to a typhoon, practitioners followed the celebration organizer’s arrangements and performed at a party at Tumon Night Market, before proceeding to visit various tourist attractions and shopping malls across Guam. The waist drum troupe performed in many locations around Guam, and practitioners also demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises and talked with local residents and tourists.

At noon on July 19, practitioners performed at the Donki Food Court. Many people stopped by to watch. That evening, the visiting delegation headed to Tumon Night Market to participate in celebrations hosted by the Guam government. The waist drum troupe performed several musical numbers for the audience, drawing applause and enthusiastic responses from the crowd.

The waist drum troupe held their second performance at the Donki Food Court at noontime the following day. After the performance ended, practitioners headed to Two Lovers Point, a famous attraction in Guam, to perform. With a backdrop of the natural scenery by the beach, the waist drum troupe used their drum music to introduce Falun Dafa to tourists and locals alike. Through this activity they gave people the chance to learn more about Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

The waist drum troupe then proceeded to Inarajan Natural Pools in southern Guam and played several waist drum pieces on the lawn. Tourists and local residents alike stopped to watch, with some taking out their phones to record the performance. The sound of the waist drums harmonized with the coastal scenery, creating a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere in the area.

July 21, 2026 was Guam’s 82nd Liberation Day. The visiting delegation went to the Guam Premier Outlets (GPO) Shopping Mall Food Court in the afternoon to play waist drum pieces and demonstrate Falun Dafa’s exercises.

The group then headed to the front of a pavilion at the famous attraction Ypao Beach Park to perform. The Guam chapter of the U.S. Marine Corps Veterans Association was holding its annual gathering there, so the veterans and their families watched the waist drum performances too. The drummers moved in perfect unison to the beat of the drums, drawing applause and cheers from the audience.

That evening, the waist drum troupe again joined the Guam government’s celebratory events at Tumon Night Market. Locals and tourists gathered around the performance area to watch as the waist drum troupe delivered a synchronized and vigorous performance, drawing applause and cheers from the audience throughout.

Guam Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and her husband attended the Tumon Night Market celebrations and came to the Falun Dafa booth to meet the practitioners from Taiwan. The practitioners presented her with a lotus flower keepsake and materials that introduce the practice. The couple then posed for a commemorative photo with the practitioners.

During this visit to Guam, Taiwanese practitioners performed waist drum routines and demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises at various event venues, shopping malls. and tourist attractions. These activities gave local residents and tourists an opportunity to learn about Falun Dafa and fostered greater exchange between the people of Taiwan and Guam.

Following the celebrations, the global marketing director for the event expressed her gratitude to the Falun Dafa practitioners from Taiwan. She noted that Guam was recovering from the impact of a typhoon and thanked the waist drum troupe for traveling there to perform, bringing a peaceful and uplifting show to the local community. On behalf of the Guam Visitors Bureau, she thanked the waist drum troupe and all of the Falun Dafa practitioners for their participation and looked forward to welcoming them back to Guam in the future.
