(Minghui.org) Popa, a businessman from Romania, paused in front of the Falun Gong practitioners’ booth at Narinkkatori in the center of Helsinki on August 15, 2026. He asked about how to practice Falun Gong and how long one had to do the exercises every day. Riikka, who was walking past the booth, stopped and said, “You can do a little bit every day. You don’t have to practice for hours.”
Riikka told Popa that she did the exercises every morning, “I can feel a change in my physical condition, and my mind is much clearer.” Riikka works in physical therapy and shared her experience of practicing Falun Gong with other passers-by.
Falun Gong practitioners held an information day event at Kamppi in Helsinki to introduce the spiritual practice to people and raise awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. Asian Design Culture 2026 was held at Narinkkatori nearby, so many people passed by the practitioners’ booth. Some stopped and tried the exercises; others signed a petition calling for an end to the persecution or said they would spread the message.
Riikka said she learned Falun Gong years ago and she did the exercises in the morning. She interacts with various people at work, including some who have negative attitudes. Practicing helps her remain calm and clear-mind. A practitioner suggested that she read Falun Gong’s main text Zhuan Falun, and said she could read it online or find a hard copy in the library. Riikka said she would borrow it from a library.

People Try the Exercises

Popa tried the exercises at the site. He said he had a company that did commercial and residential building construction, and he was a senior engineer. He told a practitioner that he could not sleep well, as he constantly thought of many things.
After trying the exercises, Popa said that his company’s operations spanned multiple countries, including Romania, the UK, and Finland. He said his company held a half an hour briefing each morning and the employees could learn the exercises during that time.

Popa said that after he returned from the UK, he wished to bring his company’s managers to learn the exercises. They are from Poland, Portugal, and Latvia.
After learning about the CCP’s persecution and state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting, Popa took 10 signature forms and said he would ask his colleagues to sign the petition. He would bring the forms back the following Saturday.
Speaking Out Against the Persecution
Fredous Alam from Bangladesh now lives in Finland, and asked if the forced organ harvesting was done by gangs or the government. He said if it was done by gangs, people would know it was a crime. But if it were done by the government, it would destroy the people’s trust in the government. “Betraying the people’s trust and devaluing human life is unacceptable,” he said.
Fredous said that each life should be respected and that the government is obligated to protect people’s safety. He said that facing such injustice, “We should make our voices heard, raise public awareness, and put a stop to this inhumane behavior. This effort should be undertaken at all levels—from the grassroots up to the government.
“If you witness injustice, speak up and do not remain silent. Many people lack a voice, and speaking out can help them.”
Luree, a local resident, said, “What you’re doing is great. It’s difficult but necessary. If nothing is done, they won’t change. We need to take action to bring about significant change. I wish you all the best.”

Taisu asked a practitioner, “Have you got enough signatures?” The practitioner said that the number of signatures was not the only consideration. They wish to let more people learn about the persecution and call for help to end it together. Every year practitioners submit the status of the petition to the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Taisu said, “What you do is very important.”
Sinikka said she previously heard about the persecution from Amnesty International. She said many people did not know about this issue, so it was important to let more people know.
Satina and Fara signed the petition after reading the banner. They asked a practitioner about social media. “I would pay attention to your social media posting so you can let more people learn about this,” Satina said. “I support you. I will tell my friend about this.” They then called a friend over to learn about the situation and sign the petition.
