(Minghui.org) Mr. Sun Changhe, 75, in Pingdu City, Shandong Province, was sentenced to three years during a court hearing in June 2026, because he practices Falun Gong, Minghui.org learned recently.
Mr. Sun, a retired employee of the Pingdu Electric Company, was arrested on January 7, 2026, while he and two other practitioners, Ms. Hou Xiuzhen and Ms. Cui Xiangying, read a Falun Gong book.
Mr. Sun was held at the Chengguan Police Station overnight. The police took him to the hospital for a physical exam the following evening. After he was found to be unfit for detention, they forced him to undergo a second round of physical examinations and then managed to have the Mencun Detention Center admit him.
The Pingdu City Court held a hearing of Mr. Sun’s case at the detention center on June 1, 2026, and convicted him at an unknown time.
