(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Chongqing] Ms. Yu Hong Faces Trial
2. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested
3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yu Huijun, 85, Arrested
4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Xu and His Wife Arrested
6. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Geng Yuhua Detained
7. [Beijing] Ms. Jing Xiuqin and Ms. Ge Shumin Detained
1. [Chongqing] Ms. Yu Hong Faces Trial
Ms. Yu Hong was arrested at home by officers from the Yuzhong District Domestic Security Division and Shiyou Road Police Station on February 21, 2026. She is held at the Yuzhong District Detention Center and issued an official arrest warrant in late March. She was indicted by the Jiulongpo District Procuratorate at an unknown time and scheduled to appear at the Jiulongpo District Court on August 13.
2. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Six Practitioners Arrested
Wang Xiao, Zhang Lihua, Yu Xiuli, Zhang Qiao, Yan Wei, and Cong Yangzi were arrested on July 30, 2026. The police confiscated a large number of items from them.
3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yu Huijun, 85, Arrested
Ms. Yu Huijun, 85, was arrested in early August 2026 at a bus station because she was recorded by surveillance cameras distributing Falun Gong materials on July 2, 2026. The police took her to the police station and forcibly drew her blood sample. She was released around 1 a.m.
4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
Five practitioners were arrested by officers from Jinzhou City Domestic Security Division and Majia Police Station on July 31, 2026, while studying Falun Gong teachings together. Four of them were released in the afternoon, but Ms. Wu Guiqing, 76, was held in custody.
5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Xu and His Wife Arrested
Mr. Xu and his wife, 73, were arrested at home at 6 a.m. on July 13, 2026, by seven plainclothes officers from Balipu Police Station. His wife passed out at the police station due to high blood pressure and was released shortly after. Mr. Xu’s situation is unclear.
6. [Changtu County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Geng Yuhua Detained
Ms. Geng Yuhua was arrested on August 4, 2026, by officers from Changtu County Domestic Security Division, Jinjia Town Police Station, and Houyao Town Police Station for mailing letters with information about Falun Gong. She was placed under seven days of administrative detention.
7. [Beijing] Ms. Jing Xiuqin and Ms. Ge Shumin Detained
Ms. Jing Xiuqin and Ms. Ge Shumin were reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong at Panggezhuang Farmers Market on the morning of August 2, 2026. They were arrested and taken to the Tuanhe Lockup for 14 days.
