(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Liu Wenhua, gender unknown, was arrested on March 19, 2026, and has been held at the Chaoyang City Detention Center since. The Shuangta District Police Department submitted the case to the Shuangta District Procuratorate. The latter indicted Liu at an unknown time. Liu was scheduled to stand trial at the Shuangta District Court on July 27.
More than 30 practitioners were arrested on July 20, 2026. The identities of 10 have been confirmed: Ms. Liu Tianhua, Ms. Gao Xiuqing, Ms. Fan Limin, Ms. Zhang Shumin, Ms. Yu Changlan, Mr. Yu Bo, Mr. Li Haifeng, Mr. Gong Chengge, Mr. Liu Zhiyuan, and Mr. Zhao Bailiang.
Ms. Hu Yalan, in her 80s, was harassed at home on July 24, 2026, by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station and community clerks. They ransacked her home, seized her Falun Gong books, and threatened to arrest her or her son if she continued to practice Falun Gong.
Ms. Gao Wenyuan was tried by the Zhen’an District Court on July 14, 2026. Her lawyer entered a not guilty plea for her. No verdict was announced.
Mr. Peng Hongxi was targeted because his mother, Ms. Yu Hua, practices Falun Gong. He was stopped from boarding a train for business on July 1, 2026, and was ordered to get an approval letter from the police. He went to the Shazitang Police Station, only to be arrested. The police also interrogated him about his mother’s daily activities, his job, and his salary. They held him at the police station overnight and released him the next day.
Ms. Sun Yanhuan was released on July 5, 2026, after serving four years and six months in prison.
