(Minghui.org) Telling people about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China is a process of cultivating one’s heart. I prefer to speak to people in person. I sometimes join other practitioners and hand out Falun Dafa flyers, but I usually go out by myself.
I began clarifying the truth about the persecution to people in August 2012. I usually handed out Minghui Weekly and sometimes Falun Dafa desk calendars.
I was initially frightened because I knew how brutally the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes practitioners. I only spoke to elderly people, and I avoided people who looked like government employees, were well dressed or seemed unfriendly. This reflected my prejudice—an obstacle in my cultivation that I needed to get rid of.
As time went by, my fear decreased and my righteous thoughts became stronger. I was comfortable speaking to educators and people in authority. I even clarified the truth to a mid-level government official.
I visited a village one time and saw a man sitting near a doorway. I asked him, “Do you know quitting the CCP organizations will keep you safe and happy?”
“Yes, I quit already,” he replied.
Just then, a well dressed man in his sixties walked past.
“Do you live here?” I asked. He said he did.
“I’m a Falun Dafa practitioner, and I’m here to wish you well,” I said.
“He’s our school principal. He won’t listen to you,” the man sitting by the door said.
“I won’t believe what you have to say,” the principal said.
“School principals are people too,” I said. “You have money, but we all want to live in peace and be happy. I can tell you’re not an ordinary person. Teachers are educated, they have good judgment, especially those in charge. Our meeting each other today is predestined. Falun Dafa is the Buddha Fa and Buddha saves people. It’s fortunate that we met today, because our Master tells us to save people.”
I told him about Falun Dafa, its guiding principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and that the teachings emphasize morality and kindness. I gave a few examples. He listened and agreed with what I said.
I continued and talked about the staged Tiananmen Square self-immolation, that Falun Dafa is practiced in over 100 countries and is welcomed by governments outside China and their citizens. I explained that Jiang Zemin, the former CCP chairman, started the persecution because he was jealous of Falun Dafa’s popularity. I also explained how important it is to renounce the CCP organizations he joined. He gladly followed my advice. He took a copy of the Minghui booklet and went home.
For the first time, I’d been able to put aside my fear and keep my righteous thoughts strong the entire time I talked. I later met a few school principals and teachers, and they all quit the CCP-affiliated organizations they joined.
Desk calendars are hard to come by in the countryside, so I like to take them to rural areas, because most villagers are happy to receive them. In 2021, practitioners in the city gave me about 300 desk calendars.
Every day, I headed off on my motorcycle with a couple dozen calendars and pamphlets about Falun Dafa, and I talked to the people I met.
Once, I went to a market and saw a few elderly women sitting together. I went up to them and said, “I’m bringing you Falun Dafa desk calendars.”
One of them said: “Falun Dafa? Didn’t the government forbid it?”
I told her, “Jiang Zemin became jealous because so many people were practicing— 100 million practitioners within a few years. Falun Dafa teaches people to be good, to be kind to their parents and spouses. The practice brought harmony to families and led children along an upright path.”
The woman said, “Being a good person is certainly a good thing.”
I talked about the government’s corruption and how its various political movements are responsible for the deaths of millions of Chinese people. I said the CCP persecutes cultivators who follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, so Heaven will eventually punish the CCP for its crimes. If we don’t renounce the CCP organizations we joined we will be held accountable for it’s crimes.
The women were a little scared, and said they didn’t go to school and didn’t join any CCP organizations. I told them how Falun Dafa brought people blessings. I also reminded them that good deeds are rewarded but bad deeds are punished. I explained that what the CCP broadcasts about Dafa on television are lies and the Tiananmen Square self-immolation is fake. In the end, all three women renounced the Young Pioneers, which they joined in elementary school.
Another time, I met a woman in a village who was sweeping her yard. I told her about Falun Dafa and the persecution. She appreciated everything I said and renounced the CCP. I gave her a calendar, a booklet and an amulet, and she thanked me. Then her husband came out of the house, and suddenly she looked frightened and shoved the gifts back, saying, “He doesn’t believe Falun Dafa is good so please don’t say anything to him. You’d better go.”
I was completely unmoved and said, “Don’t be afraid, I’ll speak to him.”
I followed her husband to the vegetable garden and called out, “Let me tell you something good. There have been so many disasters happening. I can tell you’re a good person. I don’t want anything and I’m not against anyone. I only want you to avoid disaster and be safe. Remember, ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are good.’ You should choose a good future.”
“You’re a Falun Dafa practitioner?” he asked.
“Yes,” I replied. “Falun Dafa emphasizes virtue and teaches people to be compassionate and good.”
“A person must do what is right and be kind,” he agreed.
“You’re a good person,” I said. “Have you joined any CCP organizations?”
“The Young Pioneers,” he replied.
“Please quit! Heaven will protect you.”
The man immediately did as I suggested.
I told his wife, “He believes me—he is a good person. You will both have good fortune.” I gave them a Falun Dafa booklet.
After this encounter, I realized that if I’d been affected by the wife’s initial reaction, both the husband and wife may have lost their chance to be saved.
I’ve met couples where one of them refuses to listen. They would yank the booklet from their spouse’s hands and throw it back at me. Some even tried to rip the booklet and throw it on the ground. I used to get quite angry at them, but I’m no longer moved.
I went out during the fall harvest to speak to the farmers who were out working in the fields. Every day, at least seven or eight were willing to listen to me. Once, I helped 18 farmers quit the CCP affiliated organizations they joined. One year I distributed more than 700 desk calendars.
When my heart was pure and steady, I would dream that I clarified the facts about Falun Dafa. In one dream, two vicious people came to my house, put a knife to my throat and took me outside. I saw countless sentient beings, some in the sky and some on the ground. I asked them: “Is it wrong to practice Falun Dafa?
“No,” they replied.
“Is it good to be a good person?” I asked.
“Yes,” they replied.
At that instant, the two evil people vanished. I had this type of dream twice and I knew Master was using it to encourage me.
Sometimes, if my xinxing level was low, I dreamed that an evil spirit chased me and I couldn’t escape. These dreams terrified me.
I’ve met with various reactions when I talk to people about Falun Dafa. Some asked for money, some wished for a wife, some spat out vulgar insults, and some even reported me to the police.
All those interactions helped expose and chip away at my human notions. If a day had gone well, I would tell practitioners about it at our group study, not wanting to keep it to myself. If a day didn’t go well, I didn’t say much. I realized I had an attachment to validating myself, zealotry and desire for compliments—all dangerous attachments.
In fact, Master is the one who does everything for us, and we are only doing the talking and leg work, yet we receive virtue from Master. I feel I am far behind compared to other practitioners.
