(Minghui.org) I would like to share a miraculous experience from several years ago when we tried to rescue a fellow practitioner.
Two fellow practitioners were illegally arrested by police at a hotel during a business trip. One of them, practitioner Guang, is the focus of my sharing. Prior to his arrest, Guang had been imprisoned for several years because of his faith in Falun Dafa.
Guang’s wife Hong—also a Falun Dafa practitioner—approached me and several other practitioners to discuss how we could rescue him. Two young female practitioners urged me to work with Guang’s family to demand his release, and taught me how to communicate with the police.
I replied, “Since you are good at talking, could you go?” However, they insisted that I should go, while the other practitioners looked at me with encouragement. I recognized that my selfishness and fear were holding me back, causing me to not want to give in to them.
Hong told us that Guang was in grave danger. He was being held on the third floor of a hotel. Shortly after the guard turned his back after entering the room, Guang had tried to escape through the window. Tragically, he suffered severe injuries, including multiple fractures, and was rushed to the city’s largest hospital for emergency treatment.
The head of the 610 Office falsely assured Guang’s father that he was fine. However, when his father finally saw him, Guang was completely unable to move, except for his eyes.
Master said:
“The next person’s things are your things, and your things are his things.” (Fa Teaching Given at the 2002 Conference in Washington, D.C. from Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume II)
As a Falun Dafa disciple, I should be following Master’s teaching, and not put my own interests first. If nothing else, I could at least clarify the truth to the doctors.
Then, after further searching inward, I told my fellow practitioners, “All right, I’ll work with the family to demand Guang’s release. But all of you should go to surrounding areas to send forth righteous thoughts.” They all agreed.
The next day, gathering all my courage and strengthening my righteous thoughts, I went to the hospital with Guang’s parents and his wife. The emergency room and the lobby were filled with fellow practitioners sending forth righteous thoughts. But we couldn’t find Guang. A doctor told us that Guang had been transferred to another hospital, but he didn’t know which one.
We sat down together to discuss the next step. The small amount of righteous thoughts I had just built up was once again replaced by fear. I sat aside, reading Master’s lectures, constantly correcting myself, and trying to approach issues from the perspective of the Fa.
Suddenly a fellow practitioner mentioned a hospital’s name, prompting Hong to investigate. Guang was indeed there, confined in a ward on the fourth floor, with a metal door. We felt certain this was Master’s guidance! Everyone agreed to go to the hospital the next day.
I arrived at the hospital early in the morning, only to find no practitioners there. What happened? Why did no one show up?
As I stood there uncertain, Guang’s parents and wife arrived. I tried to help Guang’s mother up the stairs, but Guang’s father stopped me, “Don’t show yourself here. There are police officers around. We can take our time going up the stairs.”
I stepped aside, and saw that another practitioner had arrived. I asked her to assist the family by sending forth righteous thoughts.
Guang’s parents and wife began pounding on the ward door, shouting Guang’s name. The police seemed panicked and kept asking how they found the hospital.
Just then, a crowd gathered around us. I told them, “Look how pitiful this family is. Their son was jailed simply because he is practices Falun Gong. He lost his job because of the persecution. After he was released, he was again arrested in a hotel during a business trip. When he asked the police why he was being arrested, the police simply said he should know the reason. To protest the illegal arrest, he jumped out of the window.”
People became upset, some even urging to file a complaint against the police. When a doctor came out to check on the situation, I told him Guang’s story. Upon hearing all this, the cleaning lady became tearful.
The police summoned the head of the 610 Office to the hospital, but he refused to release Guang, and began shouting and threatening Hong.
The next day when we met again, Hong told us that the head of 610 Office had told Guang’s father that Guang had escaped in the middle of the night. While Guang’s father felt relieved to hear that he had escaped, I reminded him, “Given Guang’s severe injuries, how could he have escaped? Ask them to check the surveillance footage. There have been many cases of forced organ harvesting—we must remain vigilant.”
Guang’s father reviewed the surveillance footage from the hospital. It revealed that Guang had descended from his floor, walked to the main entrance, discovered the hospital gates were locked so then went to the first -floor bathroom and jumped out of the window. It was unbelievable!
When we later met Guang, and he told us what had transpired.
When his family arrived at the hospital, he had heard them shouting his name. Later that day, a cleaning lady saw him and said to the two young police officers guarding him, “He injured so badly, why can’t you at least give him a sip of water?”
One police officer took 100 yuan from Guang’s wallet and bought a bottle of water, then placed the change under Guang’s pillow.
In the middle night while Guang was sleeping, he had heard someone knock on the door several times. Guang realized that it must be a hint from Master to leave. However, he couldn’t move at all. The slightest movement caused him such pain that he broke out in a cold sweat. How could he possibly leave?
But then he thought, “If Master is telling me to go, then I must be able to go.”
He struggled to sit up, and as he moved, he heard bones crack throughout his body. Then, miraculously, his shattered bones seemed to align themselves and heal on the spot.
Guang took a look at the two young police officers, who had both fallen asleep. He opened the door, and walked to the first floor, only to discover that the gate was locked. He then went to the bathroom and climbed out the window.
The window was high above the ground, but by chance, there happened to be a bicycle right below it. He stepped onto the bicycle, using it to reach the ground.
He used the money that had been left under his pillow to take a taxi. After driving for some time, the driver noticed that Guang was wearing only an undershirt, and was wrapped in bandages. Concerned, he asked Guang to transfer to another taxi, and refused to accept the fare.
And so, under Master’s guidance, Guang successfully escaped.
Dafa is extraordinary. There are countless miracles like this. As a disciple, I have come to increasingly understand how difficult it is for Master to save disciples and sentient beings. After enduring so many years of persecution and suffering, the righteous thoughts of fellow practitioners around me are growing stronger. Let us all strive forward and return home together.
