(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 28 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Zhang Lei was tried by the Zhen’an District Court on July 29, 2026. Her lawyer entered a not guilty plea for her. A second hearing was scheduled for September 1.
Ms. Ren Chunxia was arrested on August 22, 2026 for talking to a plainclothes officer about Falun Gong without knowing his identity. She was handcuffed and taken to Dongcheng Police Station.
The officers ransacked her home, and confiscated her Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a computer, a printer, and other items. She was taken to the to Fuhe Hospital for a medical exam at 2 a.m. and then admitted to the Gaogezhuang Detention Center. Her family members are not allowed to visit her.
Ms. Wang Ruiping is currently being held at the Yaojia Detention Center.
Ms. Zhang Guizhen was harassed at home by officers Gao Shang and Li Nan on August 27, 2026. They said that her case had been submitted to the local procuratorate.
Ms. Li Shuhui was arrested by Julu County Police Department officers at 8:30 p.m. on August 29, 2026.
Ya Guang, gender unknown, and Ms. Yan Shuhua were arrested on August 30, 2026, by more than 10 officers at Hancheng Farmers Market.
Ms. Zhang Jianru was arrested on August 28, 2026.
Ms. Wang Chaoying, 71, was arrested at home on August 30, 2026. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Ding Yuande and his wife Ms. Ma Ruimei have recently gone missing.
Mr. Li Zhenzhong was harassed at home on August 24, 2026. Plainclothes officers from Xingtai City Criminal Investigation Division, along with local police banged on his door for more than half an hour; the family did not open the door.
Six officers returned the next day. Mr. Li’s family still didn’t open the door for them.
Mr. Ma Guohua, his wife, and his mother were arrested on the morning of July 13, 2026. They were held at the Changqing Police Station for a few hours before being released.
Ms. Yang Huijun was at home on July 23, 2026. The police broke in and confiscated her Falun Gong books and other items. She was first held at the Dougezhuang Police Station and then taken to the Changying Detention Center at midnight. Due to her high blood pressure, she was denied admission and then released.
Mr. Zhao Yuanjun and Ms. Zhao Aihong were harassed at their respective homes on July 20, 2026, by two officers from Xianggongzhuang Police Station. The police also called Mr. Zhao’s daughter, ordering to meet with her, but she refused.
Ms. Liu Zhaorong was harassed by officers from the Mingshui First Police Station on August 19. They demanded that she sign a document, which she refused.
Ms. Chen Chenglan was arrested on August 28, 2026.
Ms. Liu Xiaoya was arrested by officers from Shenyang Economic and Technological Development Zone Police Department on June 4, 2026. She was placed under criminal detention the next day. Ge Mingyi, prosecutor of the Dadong District Procuratorate approved her arrest on June 18. Ge didn’t allow her family non-lawyer defender to review her case document or visit her.
Ms. Liu Yinghui was arrested in June 2026. The police demanded and received an unknown amount of money from her family before releasing her.
Ms. Qu Shurong and Ms. Ji Ping were arrested on June 11, 2026, by officers of the Nanyuan Police Station. Their homes were ransacked. They were issued formal arrest warrants on July 17. Ms. Qu’s lawyer visited her on August 20.
Ms. Wang Su’ai, Ms. Zhang Suying, Mr. Liu Xinshe, and Ms. Lu Lele (Ms. Wang’s daughter-in-law) were arrested on August 6, 2026. Their homes were raided.
The four practitioners were taken to Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center in the afternoon. Ms. Zhang was denied admission due to her poor health and then released on bail. The other three practitioners have been detained since.
