(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the celebrations in Kansai on October 14th and 19th, 2025. Their waist drum team performed on stage, and a banner reading “Falun Dafa, a qigong practice benefiting mind and body” was displayed.
The waist drum team in Japan began in 2022 and has actively participated in various community events to introduce Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) to the public.
The waist drum team participated in the 40th Minoh Festival in Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture on October 4. This year’s theme was “Spreading the Smiles of Minoh Festival to the World!” Despite a light rain, the festival attracted a large crowd. Approximately 80 stalls lined Awara Park, and many children enjoyed the event.
At 3:30 p.m., the Kansai waist drum team took to the stage to perform joyful pieces including “Falun Dafa Is Good.”

The waist drum team participated in the 52nd Sakai Festival in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture on October 19. The festival, centered on a two-kilometer-long (1.2-mile) street spanning the east-west corridor between two train stations, featured a musketry performance, a futon daiko competition, the Sakai tea ceremony at Rikyu’s hometown, stage performances, exhibitions, and food as well as interactive activities that showcased Sakai’s traditional culture.
The Kansai waist drum team performed in front of Sakai City Hall at 1:30 p.m. that day. They performed to the music “Falun Dafa Is Good” and “Jubilation.” The powerful drumming drew warm applause.
