A farmer in Qingyang City, Gansu Province, died on February 21, 2013, after suffering years of persecution for his faith in Falun Gong.
Mr. Jin Fujie, around 61, took up Falun Gong in January 1999. After the persecution began in July that year, he held firm to his faith and was repeatedly arrested. See the related report for his personal account of the persecution he suffered from 1999 to 2006.
In July 2012, Mr. Jin was deceived into reporting to the Dongzhi Police Station. Four officers tortured him and held him for an unknown amount of time. On August 30 that year, four other agents raided his home. The relentless persecution took a toll on his health and he died in February 2013.
