(Minghui.org) Practitioners participated in the Toronto Beaches Lions’ Easter Parade held on April 20, 2025. The parade started from Victoria Park Avenue and marched west along Queen Street East by the lake until it reached Woodbine Avenue. The event drew local and surrounding residents to come and watch and to celebrate the Easter holiday.
The Tian Guo Marching Band and Waist Drum team were once again invited to participate in the parade. Many people said they enjoyed their music. Some said they appreciated the melody, while others were curious about the band’s costumes. Spectators applauded the practitioners’ performances; some took photos or videos, while others danced in time to the music. Many people said they liked the performances of the band and the Waist Drum team.

Paolo praised the band.
Paolo is a professor of media and communication at the University of Toronto. He listened to their music when the Tian Guo Marching Band rehearsed. He said he was a member of another team and praised the band, “This is the first time I’ve heard this band perform. It sounds great! It’s inspiring and full of energy. I hope this band can inject energy into the entire Easter parade and all Toronto citizens on this special day.”
When he learned that the band was composed of Falun Dafa practitioners, Paolo asked what Falun Dafa is. A practitioner explained, and Paolo said he wanted to learn more about it.
After learning that Falun Dafa practitioners follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, Paolo said, “This concept is correct. People need to stay healthy, relaxed, and in a good mental state. I think this concept is good and should spread to everyone.”
Andrew praises the band’s performance.
Andrew swayed his body slightly to the music when he heard the music of the Tian Guo Marching Band.
Andrew is a conservationist and attended the parade with his family. He told a practitioner, “This is the first time I’ve seen them in this parade. The music played by this band is wonderful. I’m very happy that the band is here, because they make the parade more lively.”
After learning about the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, Andrew said, “This is what society needs today, more than ever before. Thank you for sharing this.” Then, he accepted a flyer from another practitioner.
Vishnu and Athulya are from Scarborough, a city near Toronto. When the Tian Guo Marching Band gathered, Vishnu and Athulya were drawn by their distinctive costumes. They especially asked a practitioner to help them take photos with the band members and said that they liked the costumes very much.
“We like the costumes, especially the colors,” Athulya said. “We also like their musical instruments. There are some similar musical instruments in India. We took some photos to show our friends."
Marcela took photos of the band. After learning the name of the band, he told a practitioner, “This is the first time I’ve heard of this. Their music is beautiful. Thank you for coming to the parade. I like their music, coordination, and costumes. Thank you for coming.”
