(Minghui.org) Despite the torrential rain practitioners demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises and the Tian Guo Marching Band performed at Rose Beach which is on the Sydney City2Surf 2025 route on the morning of August 10, 2025. Some people wished to learn more about Falun Dafa and talked with practitioners.

The Sydney City2Surf 2025 is one of the world’s largest fun runs. This year more than 90,000 participants filled the streets from Hyde Park to Bondi Beach, undeterred by the heavy rain. Since its inaugural race in 1971, the City2Surf has grown from a small local competition into an iconic 14-kilometer event that attracts elite athletes, casual joggers, charity teams, and families from around the globe. More than just a race, it’s a celebration of Sydney’s spirit — and showcases sports, community, music, and charity in one vibrant day.
Runners along the rain-soaked route were met with a burst of color and music from a group of Falun Dafa practitioners performing traditional Chinese melodies in bright uniforms. The music, rich with culture and warmth, carried Falun Dafa’s core values—Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
As rain streamed down, runners who usually would have hurried past instead paused. Some smiled or clapped. Others took photos in a rare moment of reflection amid the city’s biggest race. The Falun Dafa performance became more than just a musical interlude; it was a living reminder that even in challenging conditions, beauty, kindness, and shared human values can stop people in their tracks.
Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Benefits Humankind
Manohar Varma said the music encouraged him.
First-time participant Manohar Varma said he faced health issues in the past and wasn’t sure if he would make it, but the encouragement around him—and especially the music—kept him going: “Even the rain couldn’t dampen the energy! If I was doing this by myself, I probably wouldn’t run this much, but because of the event and all the encouragement, it makes me want to do more. Truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance—everyone’s got to have it.”
Selin Cukadar said that the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance are important for this world.
Selin Cukadar was so struck by the performance that she literally pulled over, smiling at the colors and music: “The way you guys perform—even the raincoats, the colors, everything about it is just so amazing. That’s why I had to stop and have a look. Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance are so important, especially tolerance in today’s world.” She even phoned her husband on the spot, telling him: “You’ve got to come and see this.”
Rajat Kshetriya likes the band’s performance.
Rajat Kshetriya said he started the day feeling nervous about the cold and wet conditions, but the music lifted his mood instantly: “After it started, I feel very good and now I’m enjoying it a lot. The music is really good — that’s why I’ve been here for five minutes just listening. The principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance are good, and my culture also follows the same thing.”
