(Minghui.org) A woman in Jinan City, Shandong Province, was recently sentenced to three years and four months because she practices Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Liu Erni was arrested at her home on August 29, 2025. She is currently held at the Zhonggong Lockup. The authorities extorted 5,000 yuan from her family. Minghui.org recently confirmed the verdict, but details about her indictment, trial, and sentencing aren’t clear.
This is the second time that Ms. Liu has been sentenced for her faith. She was previously arrested on the evening of July 25, 2014, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. The police interrogated her and raided her home three days later. While she was held at the Shengzhuang Detention Center, she had insomnia and lost her appetite; she also kept coughing and vomited blood. Her arrest was approved on September 1, 2014.
The Daiyue District Court held a secret hearing of Ms. Liu’s case on October 8, 2014, and sentenced her to three years. She appealed to the Jinan City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold her original verdict. She was admitted to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison on January 5, 2015, and was released on January 25, 2017.
