(Minghui.org) I ran into fellow practitioner Xuan one day. She mentioned that her calves and feet had become swollen; when she pressed on them with her finger, a deep indentation remained—it looked quite serious. Every day, she kept studying the Fa, practicing the exercises, and looking inward, but there was no improvement, and she had become very anxious about this.
Xuan said she usually maintained her character very well and had never neglected the three things. She didn’t know why she was going through this major tribulation; she could not figure out the root cause, and with no way out, this situation had dragged on for a long time.
Perhaps seeing that she really could not understand the truth of the matter, Master arranged for her to have a vivid dream one night: she saw herself sitting in a wheelchair, paralyzed! At that moment, a thought came to her: “If you keep saving people like this, her present will be your future!” She woke up with a start and immediately realized where she had gone wrong.
It turned out that her greatest attachment was the fear of something going wrong—a fear rooted in self-preservation. For years, she had essentially practiced in isolation, rarely interacting with other practitioners and mostly studying the Fa and doing the exercises alone at home.
As for clarifying the truth, she ran a market stall; since banknotes bearing messages about Dafa were already widely circulating, she simply spent a few each day as a token gesture. This approach let her avoid attracting attention and stay safe while passively participating in helping to save people—meaning she didn’t neglect the “three things” and could still hope to return home with Master upon completing her cultivation.
For years, this was her mindset: she superficially carried out the “project” of saving people while remaining focused on self-interest and avoiding persecution. She was not fulfilling the mission of saving sentient beings out of a genuine, heartfelt sense of responsibility! That is why she had encountered this physical tribulation.
Xuan deeply regretted her actions, saying, “I am sorry to Master! And I am sorry to sentient beings!” After correcting herself, she seized the remaining time to help save people, and can now persuade about a dozen people a day to quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations—a practice she has maintained for over a year.
When I met Xuan again, she was beaming with a healthy glow. She happily rolled up her pant leg and said, “Look, the swelling in my calves and feet is all gone! Even the varicose veins on my calves have disappeared, and my skin looks normal now. I’m completely healed!” Seeing Xuan’s dramatic transformation, I was truly happy for her!
Incidents of this nature have occurred among other practitioners in our local area. For instance, some practitioners go out weekly to make automated truth-clarification calls, but instead of calmly sending forth righteous thoughts on the way, they gaze at the street scenery or ask about vegetable prices. This state has persisted for nearly two years, and recently, they have begun to experience physical symptoms of “sickness karma.”
Then some other practitioners manifest the false appearance of sickness karma due to fear that if they do not go out to save people, their lives could be in danger at any moment. Driven by a fear of death and a mindset focused on curing illness, they appear to be saving people, yet the more they try to do so, the worse their physical condition seems.
There are also practitioners who have done an excellent job clarifying the truth and played a significant role in saving sentient beings, yet they remain attached to the selfish fear of failing to reach Consummation or being left behind. This has led them to look outward for guidance from so-called “masters” claiming to have open celestial eyes—a mindset that deviates from the Fa—and for many years, their bodies have remained in an abnormal state.
As practitioners, everything we have comes from Master and Dafa. We must heed Master’s words, take the Fa as our teacher, and maintain righteous thoughts and conduct. We should look inward unconditionally and align ourselves with the standards and requirements of the new cosmos; only then can we live up to Master’s boundless grace!
This is my understanding at this current level. Please point out anything inappropriate.
