(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held activities in downtown Montreal, Canada on the weekends of April 4 and April 11, 2026, during which they told people how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) brutally persecutes practitioners in China, and has extended this suppression overseas. Many people expressed their support for the events.
Practitioners held events in April 2026 to raise awareness of CCP’s repression of Falun Dafa in China and overseas.
Practitioners held banners near Place des Festivals, containing messages such as “Falun Dafa is Good,” “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good,” “The World Needs Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” “Stop the CCP’s Organ Harvesting from Living Practitioners,” “Stop the CCP’s Transnational Repression,” and “Only by Disintegrating the CCP can the Persecution be Stopped.” The eye-catching messages and peaceful scene attracted people’s attention.
University student Nina Aotmeir was deeply moved after learning about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China. She said she knew that the Uyghurs were being persecuted by the CCP, but she didn’t know that Falun Dafa practitioners were the largest victims of forced organ harvesting. She said, “Everyone should stand up and resist these crimes.” She thanked the practitioners for exposing these human rights violations, and said, “People should know this, and let the voice against it gather into a greater force.”
A couple and their two daughters, after listening to a practitioner explain the facts about Falun Dafa, signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution. The mother said, “Thank you for letting us know these things.” The practitioner gave the little girl a small lotus ornament and told her that the characters printed on it meant “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” The family happily exclaimed that these three characters, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, are very good.
While talking to a practitioner, visitor Alex initially said that the CCP regime also did some good things and developed China into the world’s second largest economy. The practitioner told him that behind this status was the fact that since its founding, the CCP killed at least 80 million Chinese people and is now harvesting organs from living Falun Dafa practitioners—an unprecedented atrocity on this planet. Furthermore, the CCP is actively destroying Chinese culture, which deprives the Chinese people of their ancient traditions, including spiritual beliefs. He was shocked, saying, “I had no idea this organ harvesting existed. It is horrific.” Before leaving, he said, “You are doing the right thing. Keep it up. Please continue your efforts.”
After he learned that the CCP used a bogus bomb threat to disrupt Shen Yun’s performance in Canada, university student Thomas immediately signed the petition. “We live in a free country where people’s freedom is guaranteed by a human rights charter,” he said. “We must never allow a foreign regime to restrict our freedom.” He said he would definitely see the Shen Yun show.
Preeti, who came to Montreal for the Liberal Party National convention, said she was moved by the event. “This group includes people of all ages and from different ethnic backgrounds. Holding banners in this cold weather, their unity and resilience touched me deeply.” She said she learned about Falun Dafa from her friend, and she agreed with it’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. “I hope more people in this world practice Falun Dafa. These principles are lacking in the world today.”
