(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Hanchuan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Tang Dongying Sentenced to Prison

7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] 89-Year-Old Ms. Liang Shuzhi Faces Imprisonment

1. [Hanchuan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Tang Dongying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Tang Dongying, 75, was arrested at home by officers from Hanchuan City Domestic Security Division and Chengguan Police Station on September 18, 2025. She was held in the Yingcheng City Detention Center and tried in the Xiaochang County Court on December 23. She was sentenced to nine months in prison and fined 6,000 yuan.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Thirteen Practitioners Arrested

Over 13 practitioners, including Ms. Wang Youmei, Ms. Tong Shuying, Ms. Sun Fang, and Ms. Wu Guihong, were arrested on April 15, 2026. The police had followed them for several months and arrested them while they were studying Falun Gong teachings together. All of their homes were ransacked. Ms. Sun has been released. Ms. Wang and Ms. Tong were detained for 15 days. Ms. Wu’s situation isn’t clear.

3. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Suyuan Faces Trial

Ms. Chen Suyuan was arrested by Shuangshan Police Station officers on January 20, 2026, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was held in the Anshan City First Women’s Detention Center. The Lishan District Procuratorate returned her case for additional evidence, and the Lishan District Police Department re-submitted it on March 17. The prosecutor indicted her on April 2, and she was scheduled to appear in the Lishan District Court on April 22.

4. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Han Yuzhen Released from Prison

Ms. Han Yuzhen was released from prison on April 13, 2026, after serving a one-year term.

5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qu Pei’e Repeatedly Harassed

Ms. Qu Pei’e, 73, has been repeatedly harassed by officers from the Xishan Police Station as evidenced by the following incidents:

Xishan Police Station officers went to her home to harass her on October 20, 2025, but she was not there at the time.

Four officers harassed her at home on November 19, 2025.

Four officers went to her home to harass her on November 27, 2025. She was not there, but the officers confiscated a Falun Gong book, four audio players, and two calendars.

Five officers broke into her home on November 28, 2025, and confiscated six Falun Gong books, a VCR, a cell phone, and a phone book, among other items. They carried her into their car and took her to the police station. They took her home after 8 p.m.

Four officers broke into her home at around 8 a.m. on November 29, 2025, put her into their car, and drove her to an unknown location, where they forced her to have a physical exam. They treated her roughly when they took her fingerprints, recorded her voice, measured her height, and scanned her eyes.

Two officers went to her home on March 24, 2026, to take samples of her blood and saliva. She refused to cooperate.

6. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Ji Ruiling’s Pension Suspended

Mr. Ji Ruiling was sentenced to three years in prison by the Congtai District Court in July 2022. His pension was suspended. After his release from prison, Mr. Ji repeatedly went to the authorities to request the reinstatement of his pension. The Congtai District Court accepted his case. No court date has been set.

7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] 89-Year-Old Ms. Liang Shuzhi Faces Imprisonment

Ms. Liang Shuzhi, 89, was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan by the Liaozhong District Court on March 27, 2023. Due to her poor health, she was denied admission by the Shenyang First Detention Center and released on bail.

Four officers from the Maluwan Police Station forced their way into Ms. Liang’s residence on the afternoon of April 17, 2026. They attempted to arrest her and take her to a detention center. She refused to cooperate. The officers threatened to return in a few days.
