(Minghui.org) I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. Thanks to Master’s compassionate protection and my ongoing understanding along the way, I gradually learned to truly cultivate myself, let go of one attachment after another, and witness the mighty power of the Fa while helping Master to save sentient beings. I would like to share a few brief stories from my cultivation journey to express my gratitude for Master’s compassionate salvation.
An Unforgettable Moment
I went to a market to clarify the truth several years ago. My throat became dry after speaking for a long time. On my way home, I noticed an elderly man resting by the roadside. I glanced at him briefly as I rode past on my electric bike. I hesitated, slowed, and stopped about 10 meters away. I thought perhaps this man was someone Master had arranged for me to meet. I turned my bike around and walked back to him.
I squatted down and spoke with him about Falun Dafa and the persecution. He agreed to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party. I saw his eyes suddenly light up, which deeply moved me. Perhaps it was the revival of a life after being saved. Behind him were the countless beings he represented, all of whom were also saved.
I got back on my bike and continued on my way, thinking, “Master, I almost made a serious mistake today. One thought could have caused a predestined person to miss being saved by Dafa.” That moment, when the elderly man’s eyes lit up, has remained unforgettable to me. I thank Master on behalf of all sentient beings.
Saved By Master in a Car Accident
In 2013, I rode my bicycle to hang up banners one day before the Chinese New Year holiday. On my way home, I had a banner left in my bag. While pushing my bicycle up a slope, a car behind me suddenly backed up and knocked me over, so my bicycle and I were run over by the vehicle.
I immediately shouted, “Master, save me!” The car stopped instantly. It was extremely dangerous—a wheel was only inches from my head. After crawling out from under the car and sitting on the road, I saw that my bicycle was still caught underneath the vehicle and being dragged along. Master had saved my life in that accident.
I was taken to the hospital, where examinations showed that I had a compression fracture of my first lumbar vertebra and another fracture of my fourth lumbar vertebra. I did not realize this was a false appearance that should have been completely denied. The doctor said I needed to be hospitalized and remain in bed for six months. However, I did not take a single pill or stay in the hospital for even one day. By listening to the Fa and doing the exercises every day, I was able to carry a stool up the mountain and prune fruit trees 73 days later. This demonstrated the miraculous power of Dafa. The driver repeatedly said he was fully responsible, but I did not ask him for any compensation. I told him about Dafa, and he understood that I did not seek any payment from him because I practice Falun Dafa.
I live in a rural area, where we need to carry firewood in winter for heating and cooking. At the time of the accident, my second child was still in kindergarten. Even while in physical pain, I still had to care for my children and cook meals. My husband left home early in the morning and returned late from work, and he did not help with the housework, leaving everything for me to do alone. Feelings of resentment arose in me, and I deeply felt the coldness of society. My husband did not understand me and argued with me, mainly about the lack of compensation for the accident. I told him that if I had acted like an ordinary person and thought about taking advantage of the situation for money, perhaps my life would not have been spared. But he just didn’t understand why I didn’t insist on compensation.
Life still had to go on despite the conflicts with my husband. During that period, the physical pain, family conflicts, housework, farm work in a mountainous area, and caring for my child all weighed heavily on me. I felt exhausted and overwhelmed, both physically and mentally. It was just as Master said in “Tempering the Will” (Hong Yin),
“...Abundant troubles rain down together,All to see: Can you pull through?...”
Fortunately, I had the Fa in my heart, which helped me through that difficult time, guided by Dafa’s principles and protected by Master’s compassion.
Memorizing the Fa Helped Me Cultivate Diligently
After the car accident, while struggling with family conflicts, I began memorizing the Fa. I started with Zhuan Falun. During this process, I broke through interference one after another and overcame many human attachments, which I won’t describe here. I memorized the book section by section, then lecture by lecture, until I could recite each lecture fluently. Later, I also memorized Essentials for Further Advancement, Hong Yin, and other teachings.
I reminded myself that memorizing the Fa was not something to do casually—it was meant to guide my cultivation. Gradually, I learned to view family relationships and conflicts as a true cultivator, guided by the Fa. Whenever a conflict arose, I would first admit I was wrong. After calming down, I would look inward to find my shortcomings. Sometimes I discovered resentment, competitiveness, or a desire to defend myself. In short, whenever conflicts arose, Master’s teachings would immediately come to mind. I treated every conflict as a valuable opportunity to improve, and gradually, truly learned how to cultivate myself.
Now, family conflicts are rare. My husband has also begun practicing after observing the extraordinary power and beauty of Dafa, which brought about the positive changes in me. Thank you, Master, for your constant protection and guidance along the way. I also thank my husband for supporting me throughout this cultivation journey.
Village Officials Praised Me as an Outstanding Person
More than 20 fruit trees in my orchard were burned down by visitors to nearby graves during the Qingming Festival (Tomb-Sweeping Day). Those trees had been in their prime fruit-bearing years. I was heartbroken as I looked at the apple trees, each 3-4 inches thick, that had been burned. I had cared for those trees, almost like raising children; it had not been easy at all. After calming down and looking inward, I realized that nothing happens by chance for a cultivator. I found my attachment to the orchard and to personal gain. I estimated the loss to be more than 30,000 yuan.
I did not ask for a penny in compensation after the fire. Village officials gave me a thumbs-up in front of the villagers and praised me as an outstanding person. Everyone in the village knew that my husband and I practiced Falun Dafa. We are beneficiaries of Dafa, and were able to act this way only because we cultivate in Dafa.
My Understanding About Overcoming the Lust Test
A practitioner asked me to write about overcoming the test of lust. At first, I did not want to discuss this topic, but after careful consideration, I decided to share some of my personal insights. Whether my understanding is correct or not, it is simply my perspective.
Every cultivator will encounter interference related to lust, and I am no exception. From the Fa’s perspective, such interference comes from one’s dimensional field not being pure, allowing lustful demons and rotten spirits a place to exist. Only by correcting oneself in every thought, continually sending righteous thoughts to cleanse one’s dimensional field, and eliminating bad substances in the other person’s field, can the interference decrease. As one’s dimensional field becomes purer, the interference will naturally grow weaker.
Now those bad substances have already been cleared away and can no longer interfere with me. I remind myself that if a person wants to cultivate into a divine being, yet still cannot let go of such low-level desires, how can they continue cultivating? Such behavior is merely a basic human method of reproduction. If cultivators remain attached to such things, they are not respecting their divine bodies. Master is watching, the gods are watching, and the old forces are watching.
Conclusion
I am deeply grateful to Master for his compassionate protection and guidance throughout my cultivation journey. From now on, I will remain steadfast in my belief in Master and the Fa, measure myself by the Fa’s standards, cultivate myself strictly, fulfill my mission, and walk the remaining path of cultivation righteously and well to repay Master’s grace.
