(Minghui.org) My husband and I relocated to a small city two years ago because my husband (a fellow Falun Dafa practitioner) was offered a job there. There aren’t many other practitioners here, so my husband and I began cultivating in this area, validating the Fa and saving sentient beings.
Looking back, I realize that everything was Master’s arrangement—allowing me to meet different people in various environments and to eliminate my human sentiment and notions through cultivation.
Make Up for Inadequacies in Cultivation
Thanks to a referral from my former employer, I found a job similar to my previous one as soon as I arrived in this small town. I used to run my own convenience store, but after the COVID-19 pandemic hit, my store closed, so I started working as a cashier at another store.
In fact, the closure of my own store was due to shortcomings in my cultivation. Upon reflection, I realized that in my previous job, I had not handled things properly; I was afraid of hardship and trouble, and I approached my work with a halfhearted, irresponsible attitude, as well as a tendency to go to extremes. Master has given me another opportunity to cultivate in this area, and I quickly found another job as a cashier.
I carefully took note of which items were out of stock, which products would sell quickly, and what customers look for, and I promptly reported this to the boss. Whenever I see something that needs to be done in the store, even if the boss hasn’t specifically asked me to, I quietly take care of it. In my spare time, I study the Fa, and I also use my phone to handle some project-related tasks.
At work, I’m also careful about what I say. When my boss points out the shortcomings of other co-workers, I instead highlight their strengths and mention the areas where they outperform me. Whenever I am scheduled to take over a shift, I arrive at the store ten to twenty minutes early. If I notice something a co-worker hasn't done properly, I quietly step in to complete it for them. Since the shift handover period is brief, I rarely have the opportunity to clarify the truth to them.
One of my co-workers is the wife of a government official back home. She’s not short on money. She just wants something to do and doesn’t want to sit around at home doing nothing. I believe that regardless of her status, if I happen to meet her, it’s because Master has arranged for us to cross paths. She had been back to China for two months, and during that time, I covered her shifts, working long hours, and it was indeed quite exhausting.
Since we were working opposite shifts, we didn’t have much time to talk, but she learned about my situation through our boss. One day, I came to the store early, clarified the truth about the persecution to her, and persuaded her to do the three withdrawals. She agreed without hesitation. I also introduced her to Gan Jing World, noting that it offers children’s programs suitable for young viewers. She was delighted to accept the flyer I offered.
The boss’s father came to the shop to help with renovations, and I assisted him. He said he would only talk to people who practice Falun Dafa, so I helped him withdraw from the Communist Party. When the boss heard that her father had withdrawn, she later brought her mother to the shop as well and asked me to explain the significance of the three withdrawals to her. Ultimately, her mother also withdrew.
After working there for two months, my boss offered me a full-time position. She hoped I would stay on for the long term, as having me around gave her greater ease and peace of mind. My boss often expressed her gratitude, saying that I had been a tremendous help to her. In truth, however, I am even more grateful to her—it was she who provided me with an environment conducive to cultivation and saving sentient beings. Her support has also enabled her to accumulate great merit.
The day before Christmas Eve, we received flyers for the Shen Yun performance in a nearby city. Since I happened to be working on Christmas Eve, whenever a customer finished their purchase, and no other customers were waiting in the store (I had previously discussed with my boss that taking good care of every customer is the most important thing), I would hand them a flyer and briefly introduce Shen Yun to them. My boss could see everything I was doing on the surveillance screen from home. She understood I was helping people, and that day, the store’s sales were more than three times what they usually were.
I know that all of this is Master’s arrangement, allowing me to cultivate and save others in my work environment and to make up for the shortcomings in my cultivation in past work environments.
Connecting With People in Different Ways
Last year, we finally bought our own home, which has three spare rooms we can rent out. Throughout the home-buying process, we introduced Shen Yun performances and the truth about Falun Dafa to everyone we encountered, including bank staff, lawyers, and real estate agents.
In a very short time, we successfully purchased the house, and the price was much lower than comparable properties. We know this was a blessing from Master, enabling us to settle down as quickly as possible, so we can focus on saving people.
After receiving the keys to the house, I clarified the truth about the persecution of the Chinese workers involved in the renovation and why one needed to do the Three Withdrawals. Whenever I met people, I shared the truth with them.
When I purchased household items online for the tenants, I would bring along a small lotus flower and a copy of Falun Dafa materials when picking up the items. Whenever potential tenants came to view the house, I introduced them to Falun Dafa and asked them to sign the “END THE CCP” petition; and when people contacted me online, I would tactfully share relevant videos from Gan Jing World with them, and they all expressed their gratitude.
I realized that this house is a bridge Master has provided for me to connect with others. I’ve also added a link to Gan Jing World on my personal homepage and reposted advertisements from the Shen Yun official website, so that people viewing the property online can see this truthful information while also learning about the homeowner.
Before renting out a room, I buy some suitable landscape paintings or floral decorations to spruce up the space, making it feel bright, pleasant, peaceful, and tidy. After the tenants move in, I also extend kindness and compassion to them.
If they are too busy to take out the trash on time, I will help them dispose of it promptly. In winter, I will clear the snow for them as soon as possible to make things as convenient as I can, and if some of them are a month behind on rent, I don’t hold it against them. Some have read the Dafa books, and I have come to realize that these tenants have all come for Dafa—our meeting today is also the result of a promise made long ago.
Master told us:
“As a person with genuine gong and energy, you do not need to give it off intentionally; you will leave energy on whatever you touch, and it will all be shining brightly.” (Lecture Six, Zhuan Falun)
That day, as my fellow practitioners and I repeatedly recited this passage from Master’s Fa, I felt a sudden jolt in my heart as I recalled the people who had come to view the room before. Although I had already sent them photos of the place beforehand, their eyes lit up with delight and surprise when they arrived in person. Two of the girls who are currently renting here couldn’t help but let out audible gasps of astonishment. I understood then that the objects we Dafa disciples have come into contact with truly do retain energy—energy that shines brightly in other dimensions.
It occurred to me that when we go out to distribute Dafa informational materials, hand out Shen Yun flyers, and put up posters, we are actually meeting people with whom we share a karmic connection. These people will gladly accept the materials or help us promote Shen Yun. Master has already paved the way, and all that remains is for us to cultivate ourselves well and forge connections with the sentient beings Master has arranged for us.
In my interactions with these people, looking at and renting a room, I also discovered that I still had discriminatory thoughts and acquired notions. For example, I thought people from certain countries were prone to lying, or were unhygienic, and I was also attached to profits.
But when I remind myself that I am a Dafa disciple, that I am here to save people, and that everything is Master’s arrangement, I am able to quickly let go of these human attachments and negative notions—and time and again, I’ve found that when things seem hopeless, a new path opens up. I am grateful for Master’s arrangements. They allow me to continually elevate myself through forming connections with sentient beings and fulfilling our shared vows.
My Path Is Paved
Previously, due to limitations in the tools available for making truth-clarification phone calls and the long hours required by my job, I temporarily stepped away from the project for six months.
However, whenever I studied Master’s new scripture, “Critical Times Reveal One’s Spiritual State,” Master’s words struck a deep chord within me time and again. I know that many fellow practitioners shoulder multiple responsibilities, and that it is not easy for any of us.
As for me, I left the project because I failed the test. Some of the fellow practitioners who joined the project later are those with whom I had conflicts in another project. Now, we’ve come together again. I know this is Master’s arrangement, allowing me to eliminate human attachments in the final stages.
Shortly after I decided to return to this project, I acquired a new calling device, and my work schedule was adjusted, allowing me to make truth-clarification calls on three evenings a week.
I quickly contacted the coordinator to express my desire to contribute once more and give myself another chance to do well. The coordinator encouraged me to persevere and remain steadfast. At that moment, I felt that Master was using the fellow practitioner’s words to enlighten me: to fulfill my mission, honor my vows, and take every step of my cultivation journey with care.
On the very first day I was assigned the case, Master encouraged me as I was making a phone call. The other party was very cooperative and provided a fax number and relevant contact information. I felt that Master had already paved the way for me; all I had to do was take action.
As long as my heart is pure and my thoughts are righteous, as long as I keep in mind that I am saving people, diligently research the information, and use righteous thoughts to awaken the other party, Master will bless his disciple.
Last month, I was assigned a case that proved extremely difficult to handle. The facts of the case were unclear, and it involved agencies at multiple levels, including some across provincial borders. Most of the phone numbers provided were unreachable.
So I went online to Minghui.org to look up detailed information about the persecution of fellow practitioners, and I also visited mainstream websites to find information on the relevant agencies. None of the fax numbers I found were operational, and no one answered when I called. I felt as though there was no hope in sight.
One evening after work, I had an hour and a half left to make phone calls. I thought to myself, “How great it would be if I could send a fax to really make an impression on them.” As soon as I had that thought, Master encouraged me. I dialed a number for the procuratorate that I had just looked up, and to my surprise, someone picked up. The person on the other end was very cooperative; they gave me their office’s fax number and promised to pass the message on to the relevant officials.
Since returning to the project a few months ago, I have witnessed a fellow practitioner going through the process of eliminating sickness karma, and I have felt no worry or fear, knowing that Master is always watching over his disciples. During that time, I simply offered her my righteous thoughts and support, believing she would get through it. As long as she persists in studying the Fa and cultivating her heart, everything will turn out for the best.
Whenever negative thoughts arose, I rejected them, recognizing that they were not my true self and that I did not want them. As I sent righteous thoughts to my fellow practitioner, I felt my own heart expanding, filled with kindness and love. Through this experience, I truly realized that helping others also helps oneself, allowing my body and mind to be purified once again.
Looking back on a project I was in charge of, I no longer let overly harsh words from a fellow practitioner affect me; I was able to step back calmly and view the situation objectively.
I didn’t focus on who was right or wrong, but instead looked at which aspect of my heart I needed to cultivate, what had caused the other person to become agitated, and what else I needed to work on. The other person must have had her own difficulties, and my heart is no longer hard or stubborn. That attachment to self is slowly fading away.
I can empathize with the other person’s suffering and difficulties. I simply wish to offer kindness and righteous thoughts, sincerely hoping for her well-being, her spiritual growth, and that my fellow practitioner may make even greater progress.
Compared to other practitioners in the project, I still have a long way to go. I know that some practitioners get up in the middle of the night to take their shifts— they are truly remarkable. I am deeply grateful for Master’s compassionate arrangement, which has allowed me to see where I fall short and to strive to catch up with my fellow practitioners. I cherish our encounter deeply, as it is a promise made millions of years ago.
No matter what roles we may have played in the past or what grievances we may have harbored, it was all for the sake of fulfilling our vows today—to cultivate away human attachments, undergo a complete transformation, and join together as one heart to save more people.
