(Minghui.org) I’m a Falun Dafa practitioner in my 90s. I have stumbled on my journey of cultivation since 1996, due to my tremendous karma and poor enlightenment quality. I was a chief physician of obstetrics with more than 50 years of experience before I retired. I would like to share some of my experiences to show the power of righteous thoughts.
Clarifying the Truth with Righteous Thoughts to the Police
Five policemen broke into my home on the morning of the Chinese New Year's Eve in 2001. They showed a search warrant and searched my home thoroughly for any Falun Dafa books and materials. I was taken to a police station and interrogated about who had given me Master’s new articles. About nine policemen took turns to interrogate me in different rooms for more than 10 hours that day.
I clarified the truth to them with strong, righteous thoughts. Ideas kept coming to my mind. I continued to talk articulately from different perspectives, such as heavenly laws and health benefits. Though deprived of food and water for a whole day, I didn’t feel hungry, thirsty, or tired. When the director of the police station and the office director were present, I solemnly pointed out why the current policy against Falun Dafa practitioners was illegal. Both of them accepted my argument reluctantly. I found out later that they had tried to protect me from further persecution after our talk that day.
They couldn’t get the information they needed from me for more than 10 hours. The police chief of our city and another official came in person around 1 a.m. The police chief said, “We have all come to spend Chinese New Year's Eve with you.” I replied, “You must be joking! Who would enjoy celebrating the Chinese New Year with a detained person? I feel bad that you can’t spend the holiday with your family. Why don’t you send me to a detention center, so that you can go home to spend New Year’s Day with your family?”
The police chief must have realized that I would never tell them any information they wanted, so he released me for the New Year.
During the holiday, I thought, “Falun Dafa is beneficial to anyone, any nation, and any society. I have done nothing wrong. I should clarify the truth to them more thoroughly and in more detail, so that they won’t continue to participate in the persecution and will have a chance of being saved.”
They took me to the police station again after the Chinese New Year. This time, I sincerely told them in detail why I practiced Falun Dafa, how Falun Dafa has taught me to improve myself, why I distributed flyers, as well as my plan to appeal for the innocence of Falun Dafa. I was eventually released. The persecution by the old forces was shattered.
Application to Quit the CCP
One day in the summer of 2021, the authorities from my former workplace told my son that the provincial Party committee had an order to have every Falun Gong practitioner write a guarantee not to practice any more, and those who refused to write one would be kicked out of the Party and denied their pension. My son came to pass me the message. I said, “Don’t worry about it. If they ask you about it, just tell them that you won’t be able to control your old mother. Tell them to contact me directly.”
An administrator from my former workplace called me a few days later. I told him up front, “I’m responsible for what I do. I’m clear-minded and don’t need any legal guardian. Don’t look for my son.” He asked me if I would submit my guarantee. I replied, “Fine, but I have a request. I would like to make a report to all the directors of my workplace first.” He agreed.
I got another call a week later. I told them I had finished writing, and they could schedule a meeting. It was a hot afternoon. A dozen directors of my former workplace gathered in the conference room. I was told to start my report.
I started by telling them that the purpose of my report was to help them know the truth, tell right from wrong, and secure a bright future for themselves. I talked about how the Constitution granted people the freedom of belief, how public servants would be held responsible for their own conduct regardless of the orders they received, and about the retribution of those who had persecuted people of faith in history.
I read my truth-clarification letter to them, telling them why I practiced Falun Dafa, how the principles of Falun Dafa had uplifted my realm of mind, what I had achieved at work, and how my chronic diseases had disappeared after practicing Falun Dafa. I would have died a long time ago if I hadn’t cultivated myself, but I was able to live a healthy and energetic life as a 90-year-old. My family has also benefited from Falun Dafa. I also expressed my wish for more people in the world to benefit from Falun Dafa.
They told me a couple of weeks later that my “guarantee” wouldn’t pass the review of the higher-ups. I asked them how to proceed. One director told me with a smile, “You can write an application to quit the Party instead.” Though I had quit the Party through The Epoch Times website, I wrote an application for the sake of their paperwork. Ever since then, my former workplace has stopped giving me any trouble.
Recounting the ups and downs on my journey of cultivation over the past 30 years, I realize that Master has always been guiding me and protecting me at every step. I must follow Master’s teachings to study the Fa well, cultivate myself diligently, fulfill my mission, and return to my true origin.
