(Minghui.org) An 84-year-old woman in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, has been denied visits with her family since her prison admission on January 20, 2026, to serve a two-year-and-five-month term for her faith in Falun Gong. In a recent letter Ms. Wang Xiuqin wrote home, she provided additional details of her arrest.

Ms. Wang was initially arrested on February 12, 2025. Due to her high blood pressure, she was released on house arrest. The police broke into her home on July 14, 2025, and took her to the hospital for a physical exam. She was admitted to the Fuzhou City Second Detention Center three days later. She was tried by the Minqing County Court on October 9, 2025, and convicted in November 2025. She appealed to the Fuzhou City Intermediate Court but lost.
Ms. Wang was transferred to the Second Division at Fujian Province Women’s Prison on January 20, 2026. Although the prison admission notice stated that her family could visit her on the 16th of every month, her family hasn’t been allowed to visit her once.
Ms. Wang’s incapacitated husband, in his 90s, relied on her for care. Her imprisonment left the family in a difficult situation.
Additional Details About Ms. Wang’s Arrest
Shen Hongbing, an officer from the Duihu Police Station, several staffers from the Duihu Street Committee, and medical personnel from the Dongsheng Residential Committee showed up at Ms. Wang’s home on July 14, 2025. Upon entering, they carried her away without allowing her to change her clothes or shoes.
Shen drove Ms. Wang to the Fuzhou City Second Hospital. Another ten officers also went there. They called her older son to go there as well.
After a thorough examination, Ms. Wang was found to have elevated blood pressure and an injury in her left pelvis due to a car accident years ago. The police ordered her to write a statement renouncing Falun Gong. She refused to comply and was taken to the Fuzhou City Second Detention Center in the evening. After the detention center refused to admit her, the police took her to the Fuzhou City First Hospital for inpatient care.
Wu Yanhong, a staffer from the detention center, gave Ms. Wang a milkshake. The next day, she noticed that the skin on her hands and feet had turned dark gray.
A guard from the detention center picked Ms. Wang up at the hospital on July 17.
