(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Nie Xiaomei Faces Trial
Ms. Nie Xiaomei was scheduled to appear in the Penglai District Court on June 22, 2026.
2. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Officially Arrested
Mr. Liu Qingfu, Ms. Zhou Hui, and Ms. Meng were arrested and taken to a detention center in mid-May 2026. They have been issued formal arrest warrants.
3. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Cheng Deliang Under Surveillance and Has His Pension Suspended
Mr. Cheng Deliang, 71, was arrested on September 28, 2017. He was tried by the Yantai Development Zone Court six months later and subsequently sentenced to five years in prison with a 20,000-yuan fine. He served time at the Shandong Province Prison and was released in September 2022.
Mr. Cheng faced continued harassment and surveillance after his prison release. The local social security bureau suspended his pension, and officer Wang Xuexin of the Jinqiao Police Station forced him to write a guarantee statement every month, promising not to practice Falun Gong. The police also flagged his ID and restricted his traveling by air or rail.
4. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Chen Zhongli Secretly Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Chen Zhongli was arrested by officers from Gucheng Police Station on September 5, 2025. Her home was ransacked. The Pingcheng District Procuratorate issued a formal arrest warrant for her on September 23 and transferred her case to the Yungang District Procuratorate on December 1. Prosecutor He Feng indicted her on December 26 and moved her case to the Yungang District Court.
Ms. Chen was tried on May 28 and June 16, 2026. Her lawyer and family members were barred from entering the courtroom during both hearings. The judge sentenced her to three years and six months on June 17.
5. [Gaoyang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Zhiping Tried
Ms. Guo Zhiping, 67, was tried by the Gaoyang County Court on June 18, 2026. Her son represented her as a non-lawyer family defender. Her older sister in her 80s wasn’t allowed to attend.
6. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Suqin Faces Indictment
Ms. Liu Suqin, 75, was arrested on May 2, 2026, and subsequently taken to the Qinhuangdao City Detention Center. The police arrested her on the grounds that she “used her cell phone to spread Falun Gong information.” They had submitted her case to the Lulong County Procuratorate.
7. [Li County, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Sun Lanmin, Ms. Zhai Ruiqin, Mr. Li Guangyi, and Yu Junqiao were arrested by officers from Sangyuan Town Police Station on June 11, 2026, while talking to people about Falun Gong. Mr. Li was denied admission by the detention center due to his advanced age. Yu was released three days later due to a medical condition. Ms. Sun and Ms. Zhai were each given a 14-day detention.
8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Xiukuan Develops Medical Condition While Serving a 4.5-Year Term
Mr. Li Xiukuan was arrested on August 21, 2025. He was sentenced to four and a half years in prison by the Daoli District Court on January 20, 2026. He developed a severe medical condition while serving time at the Shuangcheng District Detention Center, and has been taken to the hospital for treatment.
