(Minghui.org) In the days leading up to July 20, 2026, Falun Gong practitioners held a series of events in Rome, Florence, Mestre, and other cities. Through truth-clarification display boards, information booths, and exercise demonstrations, they raised awareness and called for an end to the 27-year persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Many passersby said they were appalled after learning the horrific details of the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong, including the forced harvesting of organs from practitioners while they are still alive. They signed a petition calling for it to end. Many said that the international community should pay close attention to and work together to stop these ongoing human rights abuses.
On Thursday, July 16, practitioners in Rome held an appeal at Largo Ecuador, next to the Chinese Embassy. They commemorated their fellow practitioners who had lost their lives over the past 27 years as a result of the CCP’s persecution.

During the event, practitioners displayed banners and information boards to tell people about Falun Gong and to raise awareness of the CCP’s ongoing brutal persecution. After learning about these egregious human rights abuses, many local residents signed the petition calling for the persecution to end, and they encouraged practitioners to continue their efforts.

On July 18, 2026, in the world-renowned Renaissance city of Florence, Falun Gong practitioners set up an information booth beneath the historic Loggia di Giorgio Vasari, next to Piazza dei Ciompi, to inform passersby about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong.
Although it was very hot that morning, many people stopped by the booth to learn more. They showed great interest in Falun Gong and the human rights situation in China. People who initially hurried past the booth later returned to learn more about Falun Gong and the ongoing persecution. They thanked practitioners for holding the event.
After watching the exercise demonstration, some people asked for information about the local practice site in Florence. One woman came to the park the following day to join the group practice and said that the experience brought her great joy.
As a young boy walked past the booth with his parents, he greeted practitioners with his hands together. He continued holding the gesture as he walked away, expressing his heartfelt respect.
A woman who previously lived in China said she was well aware of the CCP regime’s tight control over people. She took informational materials, and said she wanted to learn the facts and share the information with her family.
A young woman who worked at a nearby shop signed the petition and asked how to practice Falun Gong. She said that the peace and calm displayed by the practitioners while doing the exercises deeply impressed her.
